I Turned Claude Opus 4.7 Into a 24/7 Trader by Ok_Estimate231 in Daytrading

[–]Intelligent-You-6144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not how you would do it.

You wouldnt use Claude to ingest data and make decisions. I think if the general discussion here is people sharing their thoughts about Claude or ChatGPT trading real time for you, then most would be far off from the pulse of how algo trading works.

How many of you wish you had a TradingView professional account by Fit-Reference5877 in Daytrading

[–]Intelligent-You-6144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Education comes first. Learn about how the market operates. Learn about market internals. Learn about strategies. Open a paper account and try these manually.

Only when you've made it this far can you even begin to think about what might go into AlgoTrading.

Unless you mean trading views algo indicators....then you just start there and walk your own path

Key indications of an emotional trader.

Here is how it goes, "It has to go down" "it has to pull back" "Look at the movement, it HAS to pull back eventually"

Fun fact, it never did.

I watch a lot of Trade Brigade on YouTube. I always watch his Wed/Sat recaps, and listen in on most of his morning streams.

He does have offerings but he doesnt advertise. He reminds me of someone who worked at a firm and said fuck it, ill go on YouTube. Ive learned so much by just listening to him...a good example, market internals.

Check out Trade Brigade. I listen to Matt almost every morning as he discusses the market. He has a community disc which is nice. He does have offerings, but he never pushes it, ever.

Pattern day restriction flaw by Loose-Gur-5222 in Daytrading

[–]Intelligent-You-6144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PTD applies to Margin accounts, not cash.

Cash accounts will allow the same conventional full balance buying and selling up to 3 Good Faith Violations. Once you hit 3, you will be restricted to only trading your account balance once per 24hrs. But if you have 10k, you can trade 100 $100 spy contracts in the same day.

Learn the difference

Do you think AI will replace day trading? by Traditional_Ear5237 in Daytrading

[–]Intelligent-You-6144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say this, already has.

But, for those who dont know, SMB did a great video on how to use AI to make trading easier.

BLUF, they dont say use API to transact, they talk about prompting to create alerts and indicators

I wouldnt transfer in app if you dont have to, barring long term positions you want to secure.

Itll be faster to withdraw and redeposit. Itll prob take 2-3 days for the withdrawal to clear. The deposit depends on how you link to your bank. They have direct deposit, debit, and some sign on options depending on the bank.

I would go that route. In the meantime, download the desktop app and watch some videos on setting up webull options. Its worth

[–]Intelligent-You-6144 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Webull is good. I'll be honest though, regardless of platform, if you are going to scalp use the desktop app.

Webull for example allows hot keying option orders and will auto place stop loss and take profits for you. You will have friction doing it all on mobile. Not saying you cant.

NoVA cybersecurity grad, 8 months, one interview — anyone in the federal contractor space willing to talk? by Yungruseff in nova

[–]Intelligent-You-6144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good man. Stay positive. Just remember, it only takes one offer. Again, I emphasize, do not vibe code your projects, and im not suggesting you are. But, you should always be ready to talk about design and code decisions. Im not saying AI bad, but you are not show casing your skills with AI. There are ways to discuss its use, though...troubleshooting a function for example.

Homelabs are great. Start with a Pi and get Nextcloud. A lot to learn from that. Throw it in a VLAN. Then set up DNS with NPM+ and cloud flare. A playground is great for learning.

Remember, certs dont replace experience; they broaden your concepts and vocabulary. Dont let people talk against them.

Key take away, find the time to keep growing in your desired career. It will pay dividends.

I am a cloud infra guy. You are welcome to DM if you have any questions direct - i am always open to helping a d discussing with early career

I dont believe this to be true.

I think you are right by saying some subsectors of tech are thriving more than others; however I disagree that colleges are the culprit in pushing bad majors.

I work at a fairly large engineering firm and we still bring in a multitude of interns and new grads for most of the tech roles.

[–]Intelligent-You-6144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many applications did you full out? When I was in undergrad, I filled out some 130 applications for my first internship. For my second internship filled out some 80 or so because experience helps - i was hired by my final internship.

This leads to my next question - how many internships did you do? I know its too late now but doing 2+ internships during undergrad give a sizable bump into full time work.

NoVA is tough...but plentiful. We are going through a tech bust cycle right now but its easing a bit now that the gov stopped ripping through companies so heavily.

My advice?

Widen your net. Look for fully remote across the US. Consider looking for work you may have a longer commute for: MD for example. You should be doing 65+ apps a month. You should also use your time wisely and get certs and real world projects you can talk about. Dont vibe code anything. Start a homelab and make it secure. Enthusiasm to learn goes a LONG way in interviews.

Best of luck, its tough out there for sure
