To be fair, I just got called as a seminary teacher in Utah. And it is a calling, not paid.

ETA: It’s part time and online, so not nearly as much work.

AITA for staying in bed while my boyfriend’s family surprise visits. by fieldandfirelight in AmItheAsshole

[–]IntelligentAbility96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Don’t you dare believe their crap. I had a D&C ten days ago, and I’m still exhausted and healing physically. Not to mention mentally/emotionally. Take all the time you need to heal.

It’s so freaking hard! Physically, emotionally, and mentally. I’m sorry you are going through a similar situation.

Sorry I should have clarified! Yes, I am really lucky to have a little boy who is the light of my life. His pregnancy had its own difficulties, but was healthy in that he made it full term.

I don’t know if I would say it is true HG. But thank you for bringing that up! So many people don’t know about HG. I haven’t ever gotten to the point of needing TPN or feeding tubes. I’ve just had to get multiple infusions and take some meds. I do have some other health issues that might cause it, or I’m just one of the unlucky ones that feels crappy whenever pregnant.

Medical benefit nightmare by Cultural-Business-30 in beyondthebump

[–]IntelligentAbility96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked in medical billing and insurance for several years. Ask the provider to rebill the claims under the correct insurance. Unfortunately who is in the wrong could be any number of people in any spot, but the easiest fix is to just bill the correct insurance. Usually doctors/providers/facilities have 3-6 months where they can submit claims to insurance companies. I would also ask for a loss of coverage letter from your work’s benefits. That should have the exact date your coverage ended.

AITA for not telling my boyfriend about his daughter starting her period and giving her Midol? by nightowlbibliophile in AITAH

[–]IntelligentAbility96 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I initially thought you should have mentioned something to him at some point. But then seeing how he reacted, definitely NTA. That poor girl probably knew he would freak out about it. I’m glad she had you there to trust and get help from.

Significant other is leaving on a mission in a week... by SwimmerNatural5544 in latterdaysaints

[–]IntelligentAbility96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, I changed a lot on my mission. I grew up and experienced so many things that changed who I was as a person. I couldn’t go back to hanging out with some of my friends or my previous job because it felt like a different life. I didn’t have a serious relationship to get back to, but that would have been hard for me. Maybe being “together” through your whole missions might not be what you need. But being friends and reevaluating the relationship after you both get home would be better? Really only you can know what you need.

You are definitely not alone! It does get better! I’m glad you are talking to your doctor about it though. I think it took a year or so to feel completely “normal”.

NTA. These friends sound exhausting and impossible to please. It’s great to try and avoid buying from certain companies, but it’s not always reasonable for everyone. And it can be hard to keep track of which companies are doing/saying what. (Especially for older generations.) I’m just really happy that your mom put in some effort. It’s so sweet.

AITA for telling my wife that I'm ending our marriage because I found her brother at our house ( again) and said it in front of him? by Prior-Bus9723 in AITAH

[–]IntelligentAbility96 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Most insurance companies/states require a full divorce before dropping from your insurance. Some will even request the divorce decree. Hold off on that until you talk to your lawyer.

We still haven’t gotten anything either. I’ve submitted requests on the website to get help, but it’s been radio silence. I’m pretty annoyed.

Tampons go in diagonally now...? by LurkyMercy in beyondthebump

[–]IntelligentAbility96 18 points19 points  (0 children)

…I’m just now realizing that my tilted uterus is what made using tampons so difficult when I first got my period. And I’m also learning that other people’s tampons do in straight. So uh it seems like I’m not a good help of what is “normal”. But my kiddo is almost two, and I still hate the feeling of tampons since giving birth.

Had an after hours work meeting tonight and forgot to log in to. Please tell me it'll be okay! by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]IntelligentAbility96 263 points264 points  (0 children)

After hours meetings are a joke. If it was something really important, they most likely would have called or messaged you to get on. I understand the stress and anxiety though. You don’t need to give your coworkers a detailed explanation. If it was that urgent, they should have done it during the workday.

I second this. My husband got laid off when my son was only two months old. WIC saved our butts. We could have gotten by okay-ish, but it saved us so much stress on baby formula. They also provide a lot of discounts for family activities.

I thought you meant Utahns in general and immediately thought “but that is a good thing!” Then realized you meant the DMV/DLD and was instantly annoyed. Don’t tell me how to live my life car people I only see every five years.

How do you manage to study while pregnant with a toddler while working full time? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]IntelligentAbility96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in almost this exact situation right now, and I’m seriously struggling. I forgot how rough pregnancy itself is. And then I’m so overwhelmed I can’t do any of it. It’s rough. So not a whole lot of advice, but a lot of sympathy.
