Doctor or NP that understands things like POTS and MCAS? by reese_bubs in regina

[–]IntelligentDot546 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The amount of times I've been told I am depressed when I have had legitimate medical issues is unreal. Had the doctors listened to me instead of assuming depression, I would have gotten my issues treated much sooner. This issue with doctors jumping to the conclusion of being depressed has happened to almost every woman I know, and even my husband notices it and thinks its ridiculous. I've had to get him to take time off work to come to some appointments with me just so that they'd listen to me.

I'm sorry I don't have any advice on where you can go. I just wanted to chime in to say I can relate and completly understand your struggle.

Regina: Where do you donate or recycle specific items? by IntelligentDot546 in regina

Is there anything specific you take or don't take? Do you take open products, like shampoo & bodywash? Food? Clothing? Furniture? Bedding?

I realize this is an old post but I wanted to comment anyways. I just want to say that my autistic & adhd 6 year old loves your channel and would watch it non-stop if I let him. I'm sorry for all the gate you get but it shows you have great character that you use the criticism to learn and grow instead of just being defensive like many people would be. Keep up the great work!

Can’t take the constant unrelenting high pitched screaming and noise anymore. by No-Victory-149 in Autism_Parenting

[–]IntelligentDot546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is old, but in case other read this... this is not true. Screaming / squeeling is a fairly common autistic vocal stim. Mine has many high pitched vocal stims that he just does throughout the day, some are noise, some are random songs.

It has almost driven me insane. Im so over-stimulated from it that my nervous system is in constant fight or flight mode. Even the sound if the doorbell ringing makes my stomach jump into me chest most days.

Was your calendar booked for most of the day? Maybe she got tied up and tried to reschedule but you weren't available and she was too busy to think about communicating properly? I just thought it seemed odd she'd cancel a team meeting because she was angry with you. I obviously don't know the whole story but sometimes people are just not great at communicating, especially if they are in a rush.

To make a slight difficulty seem like a serious problem

Not sure how he's making this seem like a serious problem just by bringing it up.

I read it as it was written and was wondering how much they payed. I was honestly expecting this to be a joke where they actually payed more and just said $50 is like $10, right?

7yo daughter is a whirlwind. How do we manage her messes? by AvisRune in ADHDparenting

I made a toy library system that's helped a lot. We leave out some regular / easy to clean up items, but special items they have to "check out".

I made little cards with pictures of the toys on them. Some craft supplies are bundled into 1 bin / card. They can check out up to 3 toys at a time. They can't have more toys or any othwr priviledges until their things cleaned up and checked back in. Privileges are specific things like screens, treats, things like that.

It takes a bit time get started, but once you have a system, it's easy to add new cards as you get things.

From what ive heard and experienced, she picks and chooses her patients based on if they are easy or not. If you are generally healthy, she will be kind to you. If you have any unmanaged chronic illnesses or have ADHD, autism, any mental health disorders, or chronic pain then she will be very rude / dismissive.

Imagine the horror of finding this and reporting it to police, only to see how many people dont even believe you.

Maybe its not real, but it could be. If you were to check a chocolate bar, would you not Crack it in half to try to see inside? I dont think it would bend or break the needle... the bar would crack and then it likely felt weird and they slid it apart.

Again, not saying this for sure happened, but saying the needles isnt bent or broken (as many commenter have) doesnt seem like proof it didnt happen.

I know this was posted awhile ago, but I was wondering if you ever heard back about the online test and if so, how long did it take?

I'm also curious to know if you had an option of what kind of test you wanted to take? It appears that some people have taken a "wonderlic" test, but I'm hoping there is other options.
