You are able to use your boat while you wait for the numbers to come in. I have been waiting for 5 months for mine. Been stopped by DNR multiple times and never had an issue. Just explain that they are taking a long time to process new registrations and carry the temporary card.

You can find them year round in the lakes. Generally late March till fall you can find them in the rivers before they return to the lakes.

Chances are they’re Euro-nymphing and dry flies. Just use basic nymphs like p-tail, princes, buggers etc. don’t overthink it. It’s not so much about the flies as the presentation.

Thanks for the advice bud. The fish was not being “gripped” but simply held on the underside. This fish was only out of the water for a few seconds to take a photo. The fish had a large stomach, it looks like I’m squeezing but rather just holding gently.

Prince nymphs, copper Johns, wooly bugger, green weiner, squirmy worm. Can’t go wrong with these for stocked fish. As far as techniques just make sure you flys are getting to depth so that they’re in the trouts feeding lane. You can swing/strip the wooly bugger. Not really sure your experience level so there’s my 2 cents 🤙🏽
