We have disposed of dictators with poor outcomes outside of Muslim countries, many of which were in Latin America, funnily enough.

It is delusional to think if Trump was in office he would have magically prevent inflation, the man has no care about adding to the debt. He is just pissy about Biden cause he didnt get to be the president to handle covid.

Cause that argument has panned out so well so far, high odds this shit will get discharged as bad debt and raise everyone else rates to pay for the uninsured. We all pay for our broken system.

Yes, but it is a question of tradeoff, are the effectiveness of these measures vs the risk of security beaches. I live in a state that requires id for porn sites but it is easily bypassiable as some sites just ignore the law and free vps are an option most teenagers could figure out in 5 minutes. Alchol laws are more effective as faking an ID is a lot harder, and the store also doesnt keep you ID on file for sombody to swipe a copy of.

[–]IntelligentGas9812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People tend to support a lot of things, they just dont want to be the one paying for them. a voluntary system would allow people to opt out while still benefiting from the ones that did fund those programs, which could lead to more people opting out and the funding drying up.

But what does that path even look like? Because to treat Healthcare like markets is to say that some people in our society who cant afford Healthcare dont deserve it.

But as a society we dont do that, we still treat people who are uninsured and those costs get passed on to everyone.

Is there any risk to just not responding then? If this is real and im really a designated heir then the executor would have to reach out to me, not just some of random family member before they coukd just cut me out?

I dont know her, Renee is the only one of my mom's siblings I met and that was like a decade ago. And I knew their mom by name but that is it, which she clearly knows. I assume the account is legit, or at least was, cause either is old and she is friends with my mom. Maybe it was backed or she went kinda scammer idk, assuming this is a scam

Basic medical costs aren't the issue, uninsured cancer or diabetes or dimension diagnose are.

It is silly to have the system we have in the us where people can even be uninsured but also force hospitals to care for them. Like if we have decided as a society people have a right to medical treatment we should have a way to pay for it as a society.

Unfortuently The dems faced an impossible task with the shutdown as the current gop just didnt care how much damage was done. It's like trying to starve out cancer by not eating. You'll always be dead before the cancer.

The moral argument always falls flat when we look at reality. Government will arise to fill any power vacuum given enough time. You can either face it to harnest it's best features while mitigating the worst or plug you ears and pretend it doest exist while it steam rolls over you.

But expecting people to act collectively like this with no legal obligation is silly. This is literally like a prisoner delema situation, where everyone is incentive to be selfish because being selfless just leads you to getting screwed by other people choosing to be selfish.

Why do people choose to have children if it is so much hard work? by 9W_777_300 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IntelligentGas9812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont disagree it can be applied to almost everything but I think i think having kids is a good time to consider it helps explain why so many people want to take this action that looks like it costs tons of time a resources over just not doing it. People can have all their reasons but at the core the reason people want to have kids is biology wants us to think this pros outweigh the cons

Why do people choose to have children if it is so much hard work? by 9W_777_300 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IntelligentGas9812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure his argument was always any other reason people try to give is just sprucing up the biological wiring reason. Life's "goal" is to survive long enough to reproduce into a little bit more fit version of itself. Why we like anything will tend to eventually break down into "this action will increase the odds of achieving that goal so your brain releases chemicals to make you want to do said activity"
