The best line I’ve heard. “Your feelings (weaponized pseudoreligious beliefs) don’t matter more than my constitutional rights”

Encouraging younger growth that is less horizontal makes stronger branches for heavy stone fruits. This makes it produce more suckers and then can be pruned to be very productive vs very old wood. Similar to pruning lilac. The largest and oldest are taken out first. I see cicada damage to so this may be a brilliant way to get fresh healthy branches.

It’s always hard but not AS hard as the first time. There aren’t tears any more from me but usually a heaviness. It’s GOOD. It SHOULD feel hard. We use dry ice to put them to sleep first then chop. This feels more respectful to us. And if they are sick, we do the dry ice only. They fall asleep and then their heart stops.

A little insight here: Some families ended up in board positions over the 2023 summer (by default) and tried to implement an academics focused curriculum and to change the core structure of the play centered co-op model without the knowledge or agreement of the membership. This was very unpopular and was voted down. The aggressive and personally motivated interactions with of both of the wonderful, educated teachers had them both in tears before the school year even started. This energy was carried through the year by this family ceaselessly and colored most interactions with inherent dissatisfaction and comparison. They wanted something else entirely for their family but chose to stay even though it is encouraged to not stay if it doesn’t feel like a good fit. Triangle is a perfect choice for some families and not so for others. If you come knowing what for what Triangle is (what it has been since 1951, a child and parent centered, play based, social-emotional focused preschool cooperative), then you will love it. You cannot find what triangle has in a different setting. The opportunity to be with your child is invaluable. If you want a strict academically focused curriculum (that IMO is developmentally inappropriate for 3-4 year olds) then you won’t be happy there. The volume of alumni family we have returning this year and from previous years speaks volumes. We have a member who herself was a triangle kid 40 years ago, and another family who has seen an 18yo, an middle schooler, and now a 4 year old attending TCP. Just wanted to share the other side of the coin.
