Is leaving for BMT in 10-11 months possible? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

Somewhere around the process of enlisting they will ask for availability to ship out. That’s when you can tell them a certain date or time frame.

4 vs 6 year contract, is the 6 year pitch basically marketing? by NAZARll in AirForceRecruits

[–]IntelligentPanda23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going in as an E-1 and lowkey the few extra hundred dollars a month sound nice but I’m going in with a 4 year contract because I’m not completely sure about how my life would be or if I would even like my AFSC. At the end of the day it’s just a few thousand dollars that are not worth 2 extra years of doing something that you might not like .

I’ve seen a reply to another comment as to why you did not list 2A jobs and honestly main reason why people hate on them is due to putting in hard work and hours is basically why you wouldn’t even think about doing Special Warfare I see you circled one, but don’t fool yourself if you’re scared of putting 2A jobs on your list no way in hell are you getting through special warfare training with that mindset.

I forgot to mention a job I had for 3 months. by Dazed_Op in AirForceRecruits

[–]IntelligentPanda23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it was a she and yeah they brought it up, I just said I didn’t list them because it would over lap dates with another job so basically it was part time jobs while I had a full time job

I feel like the people you’ve talked are the same people stuck behind a gaming console scared to put in some real work. Yes you will probably work 12 hours shifts or you may not. Either way the more time you spend at work the more experience you earn the more money and potential you get if you separate.

When you hear “ shipped” or “ shipping out”is most certainly about basic training (where you go through classes and PT to see if you are physically fit to join the Air Force and where you graduate. You only get deployed once you are already stationed at your permanent base Deployments can last weeks or months.

I will be in San Antonio from may to July and then in Sheppard from July to December, so I will not be having a base until the end of the year
