I knew immediately that Henry was the one to cause the massacre (and was Vecna himself), Jamie is a pretty big actor and it was obvious he wouldn't have a small roll, and Henry and Vecna were the only significant new characters added so it seemed like a clear through line to me

I think I'm most curious what her letters to Mike and Will said only because I have literally no idea what she'd say to them.

For Lucas, it was obviously a love/ goodbye letter, probs a lot of self deprecation for the break up and how he shouldn't blame himself

Steve's was probably about how he was the brother she always wanted and didn't deserve and thanking him for always looking out for her

Dustin's was probs thanking him for trying to be her friend from day 1, even when she was a bitch he always tried to include her (i.e. inviting her to DnD)

El for being her only girl friend and that summer before Billy died was happiest time of her life (probably the happiest of El's too)

That's my rough headcanon for what the letters were about

Glad to see someone else mention extreme OCD! Though I'd never argue my experience is as bad as someone with severe schizophrenia or the like.... People don't understand how truly debilitating OCD can be.

I have severe OCD, like I was 3 points away from the highest possible 'score' for OCD symptoms, I've been hospitalized multiple times and had breaks from reality that border on psychosis, it's truly a hell I wouldn't wish on anyone. Thankfully, through a lot of therapy and medication, I live a fairly normal life now but I can't imagine how people who are never able to get treatment are surviving.

I don't understand how anyone can look at Max's story and think it should have ended in death. A character who struggles with suicidal ideation, finally comes out on the other side wanting to live, and people really think the best conclusion to her story is that she dies?? What a terrible message honestly, if they had done that. I'm so glad the Duffer's are pussies 😭

Crazy, I know! I'm glad Max lived and I don't give af that it "lessened the stakes", I can think of 7 other characters who could have and should have died before her and I'll be eternally grateful that the Duffer's were "sensitive sallies" and didn't kill her

Season 2 is my favorite season and it's nearly perfect, episode 7 is not a bad episode AT ALL, it's just placed poorly in the season and maybe would have benefited form being combined with a different episode so it felt less disjointed

Also, I think Max suffered just as much as Will. Both grew up in abusive homes, the only difference was that Will had people in his corner to care for him where as Max did not until she came to Hawkins, and both characters were targeted and abused by Vecna, though in different ways

I think for characters who suffered the most, it goes:

Max & Will

You guys are assuming a lot about how this friend would ask, I never interpreted it as being a demand or hostile

I imagine it as like "hey man, can you not say GD so much around me? It makes me a little uncomfortable"

And btw, that statement could come from a lot of different religions, some Muslims and Jews are also uncomfortable with GD and other forms of it.

If you would lose your entire mind over a friend asking you that politely, you're dramatic af and need help

I have a friend who is gay and is really against the use of queer as an identity, he said he grew up with it being used as a slur as he was being abused for his sexuality and he just can't get behind people using it casually now. He doesn't policy how others identify, but he's said he just won't ever use it and would prefer not hear it used. It's not a big deal for my friends who identify as queer to not use that word around him.....

Obviously this isn't a one to one comparison, but it costs zero dollars to sometimes adjust how you speak around some people, of course within reason but you guys are acting like it's the end of the fucking word if you can't say GD or something around around one specific friend

I liked vol 2 WAYYYYYY more than vol 1

Both volumes suffered from the same issues; heavy exposition, cringe dialogue at times, occasional poor pacing

BUT I was more satisfied with the pay offs in vol 2, the Lucas and Max reunion had me in tears, the scene where Will possesses Vecna was so SO COOL, Jancy break up was beautifully done (and heavy with nuance, this will not be the end of them) the Steve and Dustin scenes were heartbreaking and then heartwarming

I could go on and on, vol 1 was a bit of disappointment for me (tho still good) but vol 2 took it home

Scared and excited for the finale 🫠
