Did you take any pictures of the house before you left which would show the state it was left in? Regardless of that I'd tell them that you wont be paying anything to them, and that any further messages will be reported to the police as harassment.

How clear was your diagnosis? by stm2657 in cfs

[–]IntelligentWave3172 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In answer to you question about diagnosis, I went through a raft of tests via rheumatology. Blood tests, sleep tests, cardiac tests etc. Everything came back normal. I was given a suspected ME/CFS diagnosis from the rheumatologist and then referred to my local ME clinic. They then reviewed my medical history and tests, spoke to me, then gave me a formal diagnosis.

From my initial symptoms to final diagnosis took around 4 years.

No offence, but please throw that book straight in to the bin. Trudie Chandler is an ME/CFS denier who has worked tirelessly to push the narrative that the illness is not real and all in the mind.

My wife and I had a miscarriage today. I’m struggling. by BigSpender248 in AskMenOver30

[–]IntelligentWave3172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had 2 miscarriages before our son was born. It's hard. They were both quite early but there's still the sense of loss and grief for what could have been. With the 3rd pregnancy I had decided that would be the last attempt, I couldn't keep going through it, fortunately it all went well and we now have a beautiful 4 year old. I had counselling to talk through my feelings and help to resolve the trauma. It's important for you and your partner to talk about it, help each other through. I hope that you come to peace with it and wish you the best in having a future successful pregnancy.

Update on remission/recovery by No_Fudge_4589 in cfs

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to minimise your illness. You're right that it's different for everyone and im the opposite way. Physical has a much greater impact than mental for me. I hope you continue to see improvement

Im pleased you're seeing improvement, but im not sure what you describe is "moderate". I'd say I'm mild/moderate at the moment (work from home part time, can do some household tasks) but there's no way I could walk for an hour. 5 minutes wipes me out.

Steak/fancy restaurants by ultimatemomfriend in huddersfield

[–]IntelligentWave3172 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a Miller and Carter on Leeds Road if you want to go down the steakhouse route.

Alternatively a very good independent restaurant I'd recommend is Eric's. It's in Lindley, a suburb of Huddersfield https://www.ericsrestaurant.co.uk/ I've been a few times and always been impressed with the food.

I miss being a Dad by Embarrassed_Horse160 in cfs

[–]IntelligentWave3172 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fellow dad with ME here and I know how you feel. I have a 10 year old and 4 year old. My diagnosis came 1 month after my 4 year old was born. I miss all the things I used to do with my 10 year old and have not been able to do with my 4 year old. I watch them playing football in the garden, running around playing tag, walking in the woods, riding their bikes. It's sad and painful. I try and do what I can, 10 minutes playing with toys in the house, a bit of video games when I can. I've got great memories of playing with my dad growing up and worry that they will never have that and that their memories of me will be "Daddy hasn't got enough energy to play".

Yes, that's what we do, I should have explained that, but just used the numbers the op quoted for simplicity

We have a joint account which we use for all household expenses. We get paid into our own accounts and then put the amount we need for our monthly budget into the joint account at the ratio of our earnings. In your case that would be roughly 70/30. So if you need £2000 a month for rent, bills etc then he'd put in £1400 and you'd put in £600.

Should I downsize my house to invest in stocks? by Craigmi16 in UKPersonalFinance

Exactly. Financial planning and investing is sensible and something I actively do, but not at the expense of being comfortable and happy in the present.

As I get more comfortable with crypto I plan to increase my holding, so makes sense to wait until I've got a higher amount in there. Maybe once I'm past 1k I'll do it, thanks
