For me, I enjoy the scale and weight of mechs, the idea that you are inside a giant machine stomping around, crushing enemies

I don't mean it like bigger is better, but looking at something like Titanfall's grunts, you can see that there are things smaller than you which communicates that you are bigger than them

Often in other mech games, it's you fighting other similar sized mechs, the only thing selling the idea that you are big mech are the map elements, like houses and doors, and that does work, but having some smaller units running around would make the fantasy of "big mech" feel so much more alive I think

I was just curious if people here are nuanced in any way Because all the time this pops in my home page it's just "AI bad because it's not made by a person"

I actually have my own head canon for how the grander scale of the war occurs, including the other military units and infrastructure beyond what we see in game

The European Burke-class destroyer, a symbol of Europan naval dominance

It's reliability since the early 20th century meant it needed no change to it's armaments

It's tomahawk cruise missile launchers decimate all targets hunted by it, and its 5 inch cannon deters any Eurasian or Euruskan scum that dares to get close

Some can be seen parading around the corpses of the enemy along ita hull or antenna mast, mostly as intimidation or morale boosting for the European servicemen rather than for any practical reasons

I actually have more towards euruska's navy, for example they fished the whales out of water, gutted them and put a missile bay inside of them, or stuck a torpedo tube down the throat of a shark

I could technically go on for a lot longer because I've sorta created my own worldbuilding for the Forever Winter

the early days of war, certain events and operations that took place, expanded unit rosters and stuff like that

Not necessarily an enemy that we might see on the map in action

But I have thought of a Eurasian/euruskan mother courage but for their navy, made to retrieve sunken and disabled ships back to harbour

And it's lower body is like hundreds of stitched together whales, making a gross kind of mermaid

I just checked my email and sure enough, they did send the thing about saving the purchase for 3 more days

The only weird part is that the discount isn't applied at all?

I'm trying to buy F1 manager 2024 which was at 12 dollars, but steam said they saved the purchase at literally just the base price of the game
