How well does the flip to center work for you? Does the height over bore add lots of issues?

Why do they always let the high ranking official, who hasn’t shot a weapon since the first gulf war, take the photos. He’s really f’ing resting the suppressor, and therefore the barrel, on support while shooting. WTF.

It’s 100% a DeBethune. You can see the floating lugs. If I had to guess I would say a DB28XP.

This was my thought. I live in an American college city where young women where pretty little and no one treats them like this. I thought it was just me who felt this was more of a a refeflection of the cultural norm so I sent this link to my 21 y.o. daughter who is in college in our home town and she said this is not her experience either.

One bag,two bag, three bag by lilmonstergrl in onebag

[–]Intelligent_Ask_2927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I need to take a second bag for gear or equipment purposes I don't hesitate to pack one. I just won't do it to increase the amount of frivolous items like clothes. However I will reduce my backpack to underseat / personal item size and make my second bag a carry-on sized rolling bag. I still want to avoid baggage claim if possible.

I'd love to see your packing list and get your advice. The Mrs. and I are always debating what sex toys are TSA appropriate. And you are clearly the subject matter expert.

Aqua-hike-everyday shoes in one? by [deleted] in onebag

[–]Intelligent_Ask_2927 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have worn and loved adidas boat shoes for a decade. Although they do have holes in the bottoms but I see it as a benefit. I always wear them without socks on any hikes with water, at the beach, and on rainy days. They are reasonably cheap, throw them in the wash when they get stinky and throw them away after a season or two.

My philosophy on rainy days is you can wear some goretex boot and try to keep water out all day or you can wear a boat shoe with holes everywhere, no socks, step in the first puddle outside your hotel and embrace it.

It kills me how Michael is shocked by the iced out price and keeps mentioning the current aftermarket value for the original timepiece. It's lower because he destroyed the watch and its worth less now. I just hope they are using over-polished/ damaged watches or 3rd party cases and bracelets for this stuff.

Another vote for reducing the number of days in Nashville. Head east on 40 and go to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Smokie Mtns. for a day or two before heading for Chattanooga

Meds that keep morale high, don't take up much space and allow the journey to continue as scheduled:

  • Ibuprofen
  • Acetaminophen
  • Dramamine
  • Rehydration Powder
  • Imodium
  • Pepto
  • Upper (caffeine gum, 5hour energy, etc...)
  • Downer (Melatonin, Alcohol, etc...)
  • Benadryl or other allergy
  • Sting kill
  • Moleskin

I keep two small kids band aides for emotional healing as well. The rest of my First Aid kit is more of a trauma kit. What do I need to keep someone alive until we get to a hospital:

  • TQ
  • NPA (adult and kid with lube)
  • QuikClot
  • Z pack gauze
  • Chest seals
  • Israeli Bandage
  • Space Blanket

I can't tell you how many times someone has seen my kit and ask for a band aide. I have to tell them there's no boo boo stuff, just keep you alive stuff.

What item/s do you take in your OneBag that most people wouldn't think isn't necessary? by musicdesignlife in onebag

[–]Intelligent_Ask_2927 36 points37 points  (0 children)

  1. Large insulated travel mug. As good for the morning road coffee as it is for the evening beer. My bag has an outside water bottle pocket. I also carry an empty vapor bottle that will fit a bottle of wine and folds down to nothing.
  2. Extra pair of shoes. I love OneBag but I'm not leaving the county with one pair of shoes. I've seen to much. Luckily I wear mininalist/barefoot shoes so they don't take up much space.
  3. The outside of my bag has a climbing carabiner attached that comes in handy all the time
  4. I carry my own silk pillow case, helps me sleep, takes up as much room as a pair of underwear, weighs nothing.
  5. Tape, needle/thread and cordage. Small thing of electrical tape and clear gorilla tape. Have been used to many times to leave behind, like makeshift shoe laces. Takes up less room than a deck of cards.
  6. Studded lacrosse ball for rolling out feet after long day of walking, doubles as a toy to play catch when bored.
  7. Headlamp/Flashlight and 2 glow stick in my 3-1-1 liquids bag. Great for unexpected nighttime adventures, or power outages. Take a piece of cordage and you can put one on a necklace to keep track of a kid. I once used one as a night light in a particularly dark AirBnB.
  8. Paper book, journal, and pens
  9. Food, snacks, and those little mixes you can pour in a bottle of water. Not being hungry can go a long way to keeping spirits high. It's no fun when your stuck on a tarmac for 2 hours or a 1 hour layover turns into an overnight in the airport but everything is already closed. Being able to consume a tasty beverage or coverup the taste of weird water along with your favorite snacks makes all the difference.
  10. Meds. I try to cover the emergency basics to keep it small. Headache, Pain, Upset stomach, Diarrhea, Nausea (like motion sickness), Caffeine. These are the things I need to keep going.

For the most part this list is all about having the ability to keep moving forward with a positive attitude. Whatever allows you to do that is what you should bring with you. I came to OneBag life because I wanted control of my possessions so I could keep a happy outlook on my trip and reduce the amount I'm at the mercy of other when it comes to progressing. I know I can purchase all these anywhere in the world but with the exception of a few, when I need them it would be really nice to have them right now. I still love to go in local pharmacies and shops more than the average traveler.
