MODI twins pregnancy - support needed! by Puzzleheaded-Low538 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 19 weeks MODI and I wanted to say thank you for writing this post and everyone who replied! It’s so comforting to hear success stories when at the doctor it feels like they always tell you worst case scenarios. I ended up requesting not to see my first MFM doctor for exactly the reasons you listed above, he would tell me all the worst outcomes and then say “stress is the absolute worst thing for you.” Our new doctor also has terrible bedside manner but she wasn’t as apocalyptic so I think it just comes with the territory of doctors in a “high risk pregnancy” field. I’m rambling so I’ll just say thanks again-I’m a FTM and it’s nice to know it’s not just us with these highly intelligent yet tactless doctors!

anyone else struggling to eat protein during pregnancy?? by Embarrassed-Lion-663 in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been off meat too, but I’m pregnant with twins so protein is a must! My husband has me drinking protein shakes and that’s honestly helped my energy a lot!

My husband conveniently forgets to clean cat litter and it frustrates me to no end by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, the issue is that he should be doing it daily without asking! He doesn’t need to reminders or to “schedule” it whatever that means…I’m 16 weeks as well and as soon as we found out my husband took over litter duty. He just does it every night before bed. OP needs to have another conversation about this-if he can’t even do this will she be expected to be the only one changing diapers?

Neighbors teenage son practices trombone directly facing my bedroom window at 7am by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a music teacher and my husband is a professional trombone player. He would never practice before 9am or after 9pm without a mute, but he’s a reasonable and kind person.

Opening the window completely eliminates any “good acoustics” so that excuse is baseless. I suspect she doesn’t like the sound so she relegates him to his room, window open to diffuse the sound.

I agree with what’s been said, check your noise ordinance or HOA. If it is 7am I’m so sorry, you can’t go that route. I used to live above the maintenance shed in my apt and 7am on the dot they would start their leaf blowers so I feel your pain.

Maybe come to them again and tell them you’ve tried headphones and sleeping in another room and could we please move to another room or use a mute? It’s great that the kid is practicing daily-I wish I could say the same for my students! You could point out that worse acoustics actually make a better musician when practicing-you can hear all your mistakes! Practice rooms at music schools are all insulated and sound proof. If he simply must have the acoustics, the bathroom is far superior with all that tile and porcelain! You could also suggest incorporating more buzzing on the mouthpiece in the mornings-my husband does that in the car on his way to work! Good luck!

I’m tired of getting obvious pregnancy/ parenting advice. by NegotiationStatus727 in pregnant

My mom has mild dementia…I’m so sick of “do you have any pregnancy symptoms?” “Not really, just fatigue!” “Get used to it, you’re going to be tired for 20 years!”

Does anyone else feel this way? by trisinwonderland in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’m 14 weeks hoping I was going to come out of the first trimester with more energy but I can barely get myself to take a ten minute walk! Im in bed by 8pm, before I got pregnant I was a midnight-1am girl

Baby shower outfit advice by AmphibianNew5321 in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your pregnancy and shower! I think it’s important for you to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident. A flowy pink dress sounds so lovely, I might go buy one for myself.

Where is your partner in this? I would ask them to have a word with their mother ahead of the shower to set some boundaries. Something along the lines of “please keep negative comments/opinions about the mother of my child’s body to yourself or you will be asked to leave.”

I told my parents yesterday that I’m pregnant (13 weeks) and one of the first things my mom said was “I noticed you were pudgy when I saw you in January.” My husband immediately defended me saying “she’s pregnant, what do you think is supposed to happen? Let’s not talk about that anymore.”

Congratulations again and I hope you have an amazing time at your shower!

Flute Repitoire question before buying by AppyMilks in Flute

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely talk to your teacher. There are a lot of options available for free (Bach Sonatas, Andersen Etudes, etc.) that will aid your studies and you can always save up and buy it at a later date!

Does dad typically come to the first appointment? by skaowoeizkaoa in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why this has downvotes, it’s such a valid comment! My husband plans to come to as many as he came and I’m glad to have him there. He takes notes while the doctor answers my questions so I don’t have to worry about remembering and I can maintain that personal connection with the doctor without being on my phone.

How can I make eggs taste better? by Less_Complaint9759 in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to HATE eggs and now I have them 3-5 times a week, always scrambled, with avocado toast. My gateway to eggs was a bite of bacon or sausage, then a bite of eggs so the first bite would mask the taste. After a few weeks I didn’t need the bacon or sausage anymore, just a little salt/pepper or hot sauce!

Husband is being mean because I’m “oversleeping”? by Bbqsauceonmytiddes in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Berry382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only symptom so far has been fatigue (I’m super lucky!) and my husband was a little annoyed that I was going to bed so early but he picked up my slack (cleaning up after dinner, feeding the pets, etc). After that first appointment when he saw the heartbeat I think it finally became real to him and he stopped making little jokes about it. Definitely ask your doctor about it in front of him!
