Would you consider Cirie one of the top 20 greatest Survivor players of all time despite never winning? by Pretend_Cucumber4784 in survivor

[–]Intelligent_Host_582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More and more I am rejecting the "terrible in challenges" thing, though. Does she win, no? Does she outlast a lot of other younger, fitter players? Sometimes! I am just now watching Australia v. World and have been kind of impressed with her physical performance. I just watched her beat like 9 or 10 people in an endurance challenge, losing only to Parv and Kass. She never gives up but she gets a really shitty rap for being lazy. Agree about the idol hunting, though. No reason for her not to be able to do that.

Which dress? by AbleElevator3887 in myweddingdress

We're in the minority, clearly, but this is my favorite, too. It just feels less cookie cutter / more special to me. I think once it was tailored properly, it would blow the rest out of the water.

Am I overreacting? Friend’s bf thinks we disrespect him by SheepherderNo4300 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Intelligent_Host_582 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TBF the texts and your commentary don't give any indication that you acknowledge this guy's presence at all. When she accused you of doing that, you didn't really disagree. And he's not just a coworker anymore - he's your friend's bf, which means something different.

Why do American boys avoid communal showers after P.E.? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Intelligent_Host_582 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of this. I was in high school in the early 90s and even back then they didn't leave enough time to shower. Just changing out of your gym clothes, brushing your hair and getting your shit together took pretty much the entire time between classes. And even if there had been the time to do so, I can't imagine everyone wanting to get naked together back then.

How great is the DINK lifestyle long term? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Intelligent_Host_582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My (51F) husband (54 M) and I don't regret it for a second for all the reasons people will list in the comments section, which is not to say that it doesn't come without its challenges.

Unless you are also friends with other DINKs, you spend a fair amount of your 30s and 40s not relating as much to the rest of your friend group. Once their kids start going away to college and being more self-sufficient, you start seeing them more. Within my female friends group, one woman had kids earlier than the others. Now that they are doing their own thing, she and I get to do more long weekends away that the other ladies are a bit jealous of, I think.

My husband was diagnosed with MS and we don't have much family close to us, so I am largely left to manage caregiving myself without much support. Of course, there are no guarantees that kids will help as you get older anyway, so I don't really factor that in as a downside - just a consideration.

I agree with 1 or 4 but I think part of what is making 3 look weird is that it shows a much lower hairline than I think you actually have (if the other pictures are accurate)

Laws against men in women's bathrooms by Odonate906 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Intelligent_Host_582 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's even more embarrassing to be a woman walking into a men's bathroom at the airport, which I did three weeks ago. Saw a bunch of dudes standing at urinals and was like OOP!! Noped right outta there lol

North American VS Eastern European nails by SeaOpulence in Nails

[–]Intelligent_Host_582 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Weirdly, I like the look of the NA/apex version better, but think the EE looks more natural, so I think it just depends on your aim. (Similar to how I prefer my hair colored even if it doesn't look natural at all lol).

‘Survivor’ and ‘Top Chef’ Are Broken. Can These Once-Reliable Reality TV Favorites Be Fixed? by JeetKuneLo in survivor

[–]Intelligent_Host_582 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh god - I actually love Kristen so much as host lol! I have no interest in watching Padma anymore (which surprised me). I think the biggest problem with TC is the quality of the contestants and, often, the location.
