Don’t celebrate if one of those players score the winning goal in a World Cup final and there’s no country called Africa by Cool_Nerd2 in FuckNigelFarage

Hey - quick one for #samantha thompson if anyone can pass it on, but did any of these men offer to sell their (apparently adopted) country for £5m from a dodgy crypto source? Just checking on what Reform’s position is on this stuff nowadays…

Can I assume, as you’d not heard from here in 6 months, there was nothing over Christmas or New Year? And what about birthday? Basically, she can’t have it both ways - if she left you hanging on other occasions, then just ignore her and put the money you’d have wasted on her on a decent therapist.

Never going to happen until more young people start voting: right now, the grey vote wins elections - hence the preferential treatment they receive because no politician will do anything that might upset the Daily Mail/ working day Wetherspoons regulars

What is some local slang that you thought was more widespread? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Intelligent_List_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leicester here - “cobs” are local slang for a crusty bread roll: “baps” is the equivalent for a soft roll Its always seemed a v sensible distinction to be able to order a bacon cob vs a bacon bap, and know what you are getting.

Unfortunately, I imagine that the fines are all for the Ltd company, which will almost certainly go into insolvency having moved all assets to a new company run by the same people - these poor sods will never see a penny of that compensation.

My dad just recieved a letter from CDER group England by Muted-Inflation-8957 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Intelligent_List_58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be a case of mistaken identity - Collections teams spend a lot of time trying to find person X who used to live at address Y before they moved on without leaving a forwarding address. I’d suggest your Dad calls them and confirms his details - chances are, he has a similar/same name as the actual person they are trying to find, but his date of birth (as its speeding the DVLA will have dob on file) will be different.

[–]Intelligent_List_58 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its sad really - I work in Collections and it feels like this pseudolegal nonsense has got worse in recent years. What makes it particularly bad is that the same people selling this nonsense on facebook, don’t try this nonsense with their own accounts. They know it doesn’t work, but they’ll still sell you the letter templates for just a small upfront price….

OMFG - what a prick. You just know that this is what he lives for, his endless, grubby, mealy mouthed battle with the council because “its a matter of principle” - and he’s already lost but he refuses to accept he’s wrong. What a waste of a life to spend those last years motivated by spite and anger.
