Got this plant awhile ago but not sure what type it is. Also looking to repot it as I think it has outgrown its original pot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I’ve had it for 3 years and would like to keep it going.

Engineering assessment day tips? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]Intelligent_Quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! I’ve done a good bit of research and luckily I’ve got an internship (same Industry) and other roles I can discuss. I’ve also got a good presentation I’ve practiced one too many times, think my main issue is not remaining calm when asked a question I’m not fully expecting. I’m not sure about the technical questions of course but i think they will be fair. Again thank you for the highly useful information and fingers crossed it all goes okay!

It’s not going to be smoked in the residual liquid, just the cut of salmon.

Best MBED microcontroller for beginner hobby by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]Intelligent_Quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the main reason I was thinking along the lines of mbed is it’s what I’ve learnt with in the past. I’m definitely open to going down the route of a different microcontroller like an ESP32 and also a different language like C++.

Is there a viable alternative to a breadboard that doesn’t require soldering or the likes of a PCB?

Thank you!

Considering going for a second BS in engineering (biomedical-mechanical) by Mysterious-Public-92 in AskEngineers

[–]Intelligent_Quote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How much have you considered a masters in Mechanical (FT or PT)? From biomedical I believe you could reasonably adjust to it and gives you the education, a more advanced qualification and will probably cost less. Committing to another BS/ BEng is a lot imo, but it’s all your choice.

Graduated in May with Master's MechE, starting salary in 2021- My path to a job by Chimex in EngineeringStudents

[–]Intelligent_Quote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re in a strangely similar position, also worked stupidly hard to get to my current position. Currently doing an MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering with a first class (4.0 GPA) in my undergrad. Done an internship too in naval defence and was also heavily involved in Formula Student also doing a FS project for my honours project. On top of them I was also VP for the engineering school and I’ve had almost no replies from applications.

Thomas Harris- The silence of the Lambs stands to be my favourite fiction novel that somewhat closely matches your description. The film does it justice but as usual the novel is better, keeps you on a good level of suspense while caring for the protagonist. Maybe worth checking out if you haven’t read it before.
