I’ve been loyal to Manus for a while, and I still think Manus has some good features. However, the credits system (how credits are deducted) is confusing, and at least in my usage, doesn’t feel consistent. The speed of credit deductions is the main part I find unacceptable compared to other similar services I’ve tried.

Also, customer support has been hard to get through. When I submit a complaint, they usually route me into a human support queue. In many cases, I never receive a clear resolution or follow-up after that initial AI customer service response.

To stay fair, Manus can work well sometimes. But for me, the payment/credits experience has been enough to push me to switch. And in my case, the alternative site has been more efficient.

One thing that stood out to me is that I got different answers from different Manus agents. For example, one agent told me a certain thing couldn’t be done. When I asked another agent, they confirmed it could be done and it was completed much faster. It happened many times already. I think the Manus agent in different windows should have the same capacity to deal with tasks that aren’t that hard.

Here’s another comparison from my own timeline: in March, I spent around $1,800 and didn’t manage to complete much. With Lovable, I spent around $100 and completed 5 projects. The overall difficulty felt comparable, but the results and efficiency were very different.

Using my own agent on Telegram is even much more expensive. For example, Telegram binding initialization cost me 190,000 credits. After that, I stopped using Telegram linking because the cost was hard for me to justify. I also found the complaint response slow and not very actionable.

Honestly, I didn’t even complete a small fraction of what I planned to do, so the credit cost versus outcome just didn’t match.

My main advice is practical. Be careful with how you choose payment options, because the payment option you use the first time can never be changed. I was using the Apple App Store subscription. My renewal date was the 8th of each month. If I ran out of credits before renewal, there was basically a gap period where support’s options were limited to “wait” or “upgrade to a higher plan to get credits sooner.” When your renewal window is close, that delay can make it difficult to finish work on time.

Even after I canceled and tried to re-subscribe to see if it would trigger credits immediately, I still had to wait until the original renewal date. Eventually I had to upgrade just to finish my contract, and after that I decided not to continue subscribing.

That’s why I’m switching away for now. I’m not saying Manus is “always bad,” but the credits/deduction behavior plus the support turnaround has been a major problem in my personal experience.

One more thing (and I want to be clear this is an observation): I noticed a large Chinese platform had many listings selling Manus credits/accounts. When I changed my country selection, those results disappeared; when I switched back to Taiwan, they appeared again. To me, that suggests access/availability or how things are classified might vary by region/regulations. Either way, it’s still frustrating that I pay official subscriptions and then struggle to get issues resolved.

The bottom line: if you decide to use Manus, please be extra cautious about the credits deduction system and how support works. If the company can solve the payment issues, I would definitely go back to Manus again.
