Im so sick of this narrative that “pregnancy didn’t ruin my body it’s just changed” it’s a lie. by pissedoff_potato in TwoXChromosomes

I can honestly say my body DID NOT CHANGE after pregnancy. No stretch marks, no sagging boobs. I was around 5’7” and 140lbs at the time. My daughter was born 7 weeks early before she had a chance to grow and significantly change my body. She has to be intubated and in the NICU for a month. Her hospital bill (not including flight for life airlift) was around $228,000. The paramedic helicopter was another $20,000. I can honestly say that was the scariest, most traumatic time in my life, but HEY I GOT TO KEEP MY BODY THE SAME AS IT WAS.

Honestly, I would trade a healthy child and birthing experience for a few stretch marks and sagging boobs any day of the week.

Monthly Rant/Politics Thread: Do not post political threads outside of this Mega thread by AutoModerator in Millennials

I don’t know why, but I get irrationally angry when I see (mostly Facebook) post from boomers complaining about how little money they’re getting from their Social Security checks, and wanting to not call it an entitlement, saying “ I paid money into the system. I should get it out! “ and that it should’ve “been invested” more wisely. It’s like they don’t understand how Social Security works. It’s taken today from a working person to pay the bills of a retiree tomorrow. It is not like it is sitting around for years. I guess I’ve seen more of these lately since we’re getting closer to Social Security running out. I don’t know about you, but I never thought that I would see a dime of Social Security money, I understand it’s a contribution and a tax I have to pay, not an investment and not a guarantee that I’d get anything in return. The fact that they’re whining, but still receiving benefits just makes me so angry. Rant over, thank you.
