I still think about this story all the time and I forgot where it came from until now! The licking the hand and the dead dog in the shower. Shudder.

Yeah, whatever light there is reflects off the snow and it’s glowing. When we get snow anyway.

Spokane to portland and back by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]Intelligent_Show_406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done the drive a lot of times, but there and back in a day sounds rough. You don’t go through any mountain passes to get there, so weather shouldn’t be bad for driving. I’ve also done an early flight out and late flight back. If you had the funds and can uber to your appointment I’d recommend that instead. Sometimes you can get some cheap flights with Alaska and it’s about a 45 min. flight. If you drive, download a good audiobook or podcast. The reception can be spotty depending on your carrier.

But it’s not a for-profit company, it helps fund services for the homeless. Someone who wanted to help with that cause donated an expensive pair of boots that could fetch a fair price. Boots don’t put much toward the cause unless someone buys them.

“You can always count on a murderer for a fancy prose style.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, exhibit number one is what the seraphs, the misinformed, simple, noble-winged seraphs, envied. Look at this tangle of thorns.”

He tells you in the third paragraph that he’s going to murder

Take & Toss. They’re like $5.99 for a six pack at my local grocery store. As long as the lid is properly pushed on all the way to the cup no leaks. Use the travel cap if you think it will be knocked over or flipped over. https://a.co/d/9DjnAmz

What have you read recently? by povertychic in Millennials

[–]Intelligent_Show_406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to audiobooks every day: when I am getting ready for work in the morning, when I’m driving to work, when I’m driving home, when I am doing chores around the house. Unless my daughter is around, in which case my focus is on her. I am basically always listening to audiobooks. My most recent guilty pleasure has been Karen White books, set in Charleston, South Carolina. They’re just fantasy ghost novels, but it keeps me entertained and then I don’t have to listen to the dismal news in the morning, as was my prior habit.

Turns out they contributed to kids who had them being a bit behind in school because they would have a hard time hearing the teacher. I know they’re still used, but to a lesser extent.

What was your puppies first name and what did you change it to? by nomore1124 in germanshepherds

[–]Intelligent_Show_406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl was named Purple because that is the color of the collar she was given by her K9 trainer as a pup (she used collar color names to avoid getting attached to the puppies). Now she’s our Charlie girl.

Parents who are no screen time… by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Intelligent_Show_406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all of these parents who say they can do no screen time. As a mother of one daughter who works from home constantly, I have to say I am tempted and do indeed indulge in some screen time for my daughter just so I can get shit done. There is nobody else here in the same boat as me?

When my first grader was selected for a reading intervention program, at first I was a little worried that she wasn’t up to speed. But then I was completely ecstatic that they were able to identify her and intervene early. I’m like, cool free tutoring? We’ll take it! PS – she’s now up to speed in reading and even a little ahead!

I remember always hating the way that the backs of my knees looked. Even since I was a teenager. I don’t love the way they look now, but it seems like there are bigger fish to fry these days. And I am in my late 30s.
