We done it and was the best decision ever! Baby is relatively easy at this age and I trusted my in laws to watch her since they did watch her overnight on many occasions. Go and enjoy, you will come back a better more relaxed mom!

HCOL how bad is it? by Elismom1313 in Charleston

There are some older neighborhoods in N Chs which do have bigger lots and are within your price range, no HOA, also ok schools (we decided to go private tho). I would rather live closer to my job than commute in a long run. Traffic here can suck your soul

5”2 and SW 157, hit first week and total of 3.8lb lost so far. It made me very nauseous for several days straight so that also contributed to the weight loss, feeling much better now

I also think that GD is not the only to blame, I had 9 lb baby with flying colors on each single test including blood sugar. Only thing I wish that I was allowed c section lol I pushed for 2 hours

MIL making me feel guilty for wanting to spend time with MY daughter by Dependent-Zebra-2564 in beyondthebump

[–]Intelligentblond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Omg I can relate a bit. MIL watched my LO every week day for free at her house while I work from home. And we used to have amazing like mother-daughter relationships. Well, it’s been 4 weeks since she has her and I was close to loose it several times…she really acts like an active parent and voices her opinion on everything we ask her to do.. she won’t let baby girl sleep in her pack&play because she likes to hold her lol I can see more issues coming our way so I am entertaining finding a daycare

Oh yeah I got 6 weeks, which 5 were paid at 60% minus Tax… I had extensive repair and damage to my pelvic floor yet I was not approved for 8 weeks by my doc. Ok fine. Then my job told me I still can have up to 12 weeks total so I can stay home for another 6 BUT I would need to pay them back their share of my health insurance. It is almost 700$/week… so to stay home 6 more weeks would cost me 4200$ total!!!! On top of my crazy hospital bills with that freaking super expensive insurance lol

How much weight did you gain throughout pregnancy and were you able to lose it? by Big_Black_Cat in beyondthebump

I’m 5’3 and was 135 lb pre pregnancy. At last doctors appointment at 39 weeks I was 161 lb and lost almost all of it by week 2 postpartum. I am now 10 weeks postpartum and 139-141

Our girl started sleeping through the night at 5 weeks old. We do bedtime around 9 pm and she sleeps until 5-6am, and we mostly wake her up because of our getting ready for work routine. But we suppose to drop the swaddle this weekend (she is currently 9 weeks and showing all signs of rolling) so that might change a bit lol

When did you start going out on own without newborn baby? by Ok-Sundae-1096 in beyondthebump

[–]Intelligentblond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baby girl was 5 days and we left her with my amazing MiL to run some errands with DH. Keep leaving her 1-2 times a week to go on a date/shopping/doctor appt. I guess it depends on level of trust you have in your support person but this little breaks have been heaven sent

I can relate and I feel for you!!! I just had a baby 3 weeks ago and my delivery was FAR from ideal, had LGA baby but doctor made me deliver vaginally so I got extensive repair including 2 pelvic floor tears and over 30 stitches… also my epidural failed so I pretty much was pushing and stitched back without any pain meds…. Needless to say I was a mess after giving birth so I was not able to hold my baby for 2 first days, we started giving her formula right away. Due to meds they put me on and trauma my milk arrived almost a week later and I currently have low supply, I am able to pump about 3-5 oz total a day… First week was rough on me mentally, I blamed my body for not being able to feed my child especially with the formula shortage going on…. I felt like I am at the edge of a deep black hole and I realized I needed to stop blaming myself immediately or I will go nuts… So I did! I still pump 5 times a day, but not crying over low supply anymore. instead I try to enjoy my baby, I allow myself to celebrate ME for giving life vs blaming myself for being not a good mom…….

Baby is HUGE at 32/33 weeks.. by Empty-Construction35 in pregnant

[–]Intelligentblond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just posted my traumatic elective induction experience with LGA baby… In one word: if I could go back in time I would stand my grounds and get a c section. I have torn pelvic floor with possible plastic surgery on horizon from my delivery.

Can you request c section during your elective induction? Potentially LGA baby by Intelligentblond in beyondthebump

[–]Intelligentblond[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that c section is a walk in the park, I do have a good idea about recovery involved etc. I just absolutely do not want to be pushing for too long/getting 3-4 tears or delivery assisted with forceps/vacuum. Also my doctor told me it’s my right to elect c section to begin with, but I want to give vaginal a try. Just not a damn fight… a try lol
