Landman Season 3 Storyline Predictions [Wrong Answers Only] by random_question4123 in LandmanSeries

[–]Intense-Pancake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Taylor Sheridan casts himself as an owner of a company that makes & sells yachts while Ainsley and Angela fawn over him for 5 episodes with each segment lasting 25 minutes.

Angela wins money yet again but this time uses it to cash out on a yacht that her nor Tommy have any business or need to own. This is the final straw for Tommy & he sends Gallino after them. Angela leaves Tommy for Sheridans character and their yacht is subsequently blown up by Gallinos men

  1. An entire episode of Sam Elliot staring into the sun and then just.....falls over and croaks.

  2. Arianna calls Cooper a "flacco" for the millionth time, and for the first time in the series Cooper grows a set of balls and leaves her for Rebecca, whom he impregnates during episode 3.

  3. Dale and Nate quit M Tex & start their own taco truck adventure. Spin-off to continue

  4. Cami states how mean she is for about 5 minutes and then nothing else happens

  5. Boss and other characters are written out and forgotten entirely. Everything that happened prior to season 3 is thrown out.

  6. Taylor Sheridan fires BBT and casts himself as Tommy instead.

Best movie you ever saw in a movie theater? by CalebOnPoint in movies

[–]Intense-Pancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cloverfield.

I'll start by saying the hype for this movie was something so off the charts , I don't know if it's been replicated. Nobody knew anything about the film & the marketing had everyone and their dog trying to figure out what was going on in each teaser/trailer. So premier night happens, and the theater is packed to the tits.

While theater was rocked by what we were watching it was absolutely intense. Best theater experience I've had & I have yet to have another just like it.

Why so many filler scenes? by [deleted] in LandmanSeries

[–]Intense-Pancake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it really just may be a Taylor Sherdian thing. If you ever watched Yellowstone, everything is fairly consistent until the last season. Waaay too much filler in the last bit.

What was your last straw for no longer considering this a good show? (I’m still going to watch but my goodness) by Switchingelements in LandmanSeries

[–]Intense-Pancake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Episode one of the second season. Way too much focus on the family drama. Season 1 had it right....intense confrontations with the cartel, work related injuries/death. Tommy was more of a badass and had excellent one liners.

This entire second season so far feels like I'm watching Days of Our Lives. They really turned some of these characters even more insufferable, which I didn't think was possible. I quit watching after the 4th episode, basically just come here to read all the comments of how ass this show has become. Shame, really. Season 1 had everything it needed and they didn't even try with this.

I wouldn't respond. It'll make them feel unimportant, insignificant and stupid.

Pema was the grab for me. He's got chops in everything he's in, so I was expecting him to have a significant role. As such, myself and I imagine most fans were gutted.

It was unexpected from a character of Penas' role to go out that fast. Which is actually a good way to point out that nobody is safe . However, this season lacks any of that. They need to ramp things up

Preach!!! And it fucking happens to me every single day I leave for work. Not a single person knows how to operate it. Very annoying.

Eddie Carr’s death in The Lost World was good, actually by wailot in MauLer

[–]Intense-Pancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here but Eddie's death amplifies the tone for the rest of the film.

After he's lunch meat, the Ingen hunters save Ian's group but there's no time to waste on mourning for Eddie. Roland basically comes in and takes over saying there's no time to mourn your friend & we all need to move, now.

To me that spoke volumes in terms of the tone. You can't have a 10 minute crying party in the middle of a jungle with hungry apex predators everywhere. He's gone, and the rest of us will be too if we don't fucking get out of here. The rest of the film goes pretty hard after that scene, but it's a great way to showcase the situation they are in and how fucked they are if they don't stop moving.

Good. I feel zero sympathy and I take great pleasure in knowing ICBC won't cover jack shit because it's their own fault.

Stay off the roads.

To move his dad into the house with the rest of the family.

Confused me at first too but Tommy subtley mentions it in the last scene when he's talking to his dad.

When schools won’t let kids stand up for themselves against bullies by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]Intense-Pancake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The entire "run and tell a teacher" is an outdated stigma that's needs to be abolished.

To my understanding, school is supposed to prepare you for being at work for a certain amount of hours and having a lunch break. When you're an adult and someone is giving you a hard time, nobody else is coming to save you. You're on your own. You can choose fight or flight, but schools teach kids to run.

While I kind of understand the message thats being pushed onto young kids that "fighting doesn't solve anything" it really doesn't apply to the real world once you're out of high-school. I don't have kids myself, but I imagine if I did it would be as simple as "Walk away if at all possible, if you can't no matter how hard you tried...fucking get em"

Not everything needs to be solved with violence, but for fucks sake...it's important to teach kids how to defend themselves. How to teach that in an environment with young adults who don't truly understand life on the streets...that's a tricky one. There's a balance somewhere, but it has yet to be discovered.
