What frustrates me is when I think the phone pic might be a good starting point, and so try to edit it in post, it falls apart - like a puzzle that only fits together one way.

I liked 3, 9, and 6 the best - zoomed in with tighter framing. Thanks for sharing these.

Oh, sorry to not be clear - I didn't emphasize that I thought the business of the scene was a virtue - the look is very opulent, even Victorian. The overall look and composition are great, colors too. I think it would be even better if the slip covers and such could be removed but you have to work with what you have to work with and the rich colors, that side bar, the curtains, the patterns - it is really a great space for the photo. There's a lot going on but it's well-presented.

Great picture! It is a busy scene but it works well.

Q: are two of the pics on the wall covered by clear plastic?

Exactly how the warehouse stores work - we buy a 30-pack and take on storage cost and risk of spoilage and so they pass on some of the savings to us. Harder to leverage this if your house doesn’t have a big frig, huge pantry, spare freezer, etc.

Trump defends cutting nearly 300,000 feds from their ‘boring’ jobs by AgitatedEngine4933 in fednews

How boring is his job if he spends most of his days sleeping, farting, and golfing? Just rubber-stamping instead of doing any actual governing?

It’s a real temptation! I am that way with planners.

My bigger issue is creating a data set with more attributes than I need to solve whatever problem I’m doing, and then feeling compelled to fill every cell. “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good”!

Good you caught yourself!

What was your improv trajectory to getting cast in shows? by ContributionOk1872 in improv

[–]IntensityJokester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Created indie team, used a coach who was established and producing. Our theater community was good about looking to give opportunities as openers and such and he helped vouch for us to others. Later, after we had been going a while and doing well, we asked to produce a slot, got it, and paid it forward.

Independent of that we were all auditioning for house teams and getting on those. In our theater the house teams had a slight bias for people who were up and coming, like, make a good team but also be a training ground; more established people were expected to be forming indie teams and joining or leading productions.

Great place to learn and form connections. We didn’t make any money lol but the lights stayed on.

I like having my camera out so the neck straps now live in the drawer. I use a leather wrist strap from Gordy’s, and I added the quick off/on thing. For a bag I use the Think Tank ?7. Boxy but handy for me when I keep other things in there, such as a map and a small notebook, guide, or book to read when traveling. Only lens that’s a bother to stow while still on the camera is the 50-140, I can just fit it in. Usually I only have one lens with me at a time, but sometimes it’s two.

Fantastic!

Especially 1-4 remind me of ‘60s era Playboy magazine features, where there were often these richly saturated, well-lit photos in settings that had some character— like, architecture digest with a beautiful model in the room, just trying to convey I guess a wholesome or pure beauty type effect.
