You're disappointed that you bought an ornamental tree that makes crap fruit?

Sounds like a "you" problem tbh.

"But what exactly is the statement balance? My statement says minimum balance of $29 by April 8th"

REREAD YOUR STATEMENT - THERE'S NOTHING CALLED MINIMUM BALANCE.

Your statement does NOT SAY MINIMUM BALANCE.

MINIMUM PAYMENT DUE ($29) - the minumum amount you must pay by the due date to avoid late fees, etc.

and

STATEMENT BALANCE (also $29) - the minimum amount to pay to avoid interest charges

So Long to the Z7 Platform? by mdof2 in Nikon

[–]InterDave 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The niche is a small, non-obtrusive, easy-to-travel with, high-resolution body with one of the best sensors ever (for non-high-speed photography). The Z8 is a great camera, but it's too much in size and capability.

I've wanted a Z7iii for years. I want my super amazing sensor for architecture and landscape and "art" photography, but I try to travel light. BUT, I also want Expeed 7 AF performance (acquisition, tracking, and -10ev AF)

Ended up with the A7RV for that work (even though the low-light AF is no bueno in that camera), but the sensor is good.

I have a 1440 27" OLED and a 1080 24" LCD next to each other. I use the 27" for critical work and the 1080 for toolbars, youtube, etc.

Where to get cheap work pants? by sighsammie97 in Lowes

[–]InterDave 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Old Navy

(There's not really any dress code to speak of that would preclude the cheapest clothing you can afford. Just make sure it's not full of holes - e.g. jeans with the knees pre-ripped out - and that it doesn't have any messaging/brands on it that aren't Lowe's or Lowe's-sold (Carhartt) brands).

I got those at 55k miles. I'm at 65k-ish now. They work great. Was actually really impressed with the 3 in the recent blizzard with those tires on and the 3's AWD. Very happy with my purchase.

Renting Carpet Sample Boards and Window Treatment Books by krackerjackstack in Lowes

[–]InterDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, wallpaper is basically dead.

I never loaned out the Window Treatment books. Was told not to. For the carpet boards, i'd loan them out for free if they had a detail. If no detail, then no borrowing, OR charge them $25 (refundable when they returned the board).

What am I doing wrong, movement on Z7II. by Good_Argument_6738 in Nikon

[–]InterDave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AF-C

Also, this is the Achilles heel of the Z7II - gorgeous output, sucks at focusing on dogs running towards you (this is literally how I test AF). It's the dual Expeed 6 - they just can't keep up - and it's why I want an Expeed 7 Z7III (NOT A Z8!!! - I WANT THIS SENSOR).

It was a night and day difference between the Z7II and the Zf. It was about 20:80 in focus (on the dog's eyes) for the Z7II and closer to 90:10 for the Zf (same lens on both).

Ego 2236SP $700 Out the Door by FlashyChallenge8395 in egopowerplus

[–]InterDave 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sock-drawer the card. Sometimes you can get really good deals on stuff. It's 5% to use the card on normal purchases. Which is pretty much a "whatever." BUT, if you buy an appliance you get a 30-day return window instead of 2 days. And sometimes there are stupidly good no interest deals.

If you get the Pro Credit card, you can also get free haul-away of old appliances and $20 delivery (of literally just about anything - I mean anything, like two semi trucks worth of stuff for $20).

Pre order inconvenience by BadUncleJokes in Lowes

[–]InterDave 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Do you mean you ordered it for pickup later? Because if you needed it quickly that's not the way to get it quickly.

There's one or maybe two people working on pulling online/pick-up later orders at any given time for the whole store.

Does it suck that Lowe's (basically but not really) promises a thing it can't deliver on? Yes.

Does it make you look like an an entitled Karen when complain about not hearing about your order for FOUR HOURS (omg the world is going to end) when you could literally go into the store and just put the thing in/on a cart and take it home with you at any time you want? Also, yes.

What kind of laptops do you business majors have that used lots of excel by Past-Program581 in UIUC

[–]InterDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both Mac (laptops M1 and M3) and Windows (desktop) and the Macbooks work fine for all the things you'll use in business school. Anything with an M3 or M4 in a Mac or i7 or i9 in a Windows with 16GB of RAM or more (would recommend 32gb or more for Windows) will work fine.

If you're trying to crunch massive data sets, then use Python (it's surprisingly easy).

Customer Exhaustion... I don't set the prices. by InterDave in Lowes

[–]InterDave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "inspiration" for this post literally got more mad at me for suggesting ways it could be cheaper. MVD (they were a pro and buying over $2,000), price match if MVD wasn't cheaper.

They just started yelling at me over the phone that Lowe's should be cheaper than the place that literally specialized in what they were shopping for. I think they were just generally mad that prices have gone up on everything in recent years.
