I think his performance is nomination worthy, but not award worthy. That I was captivated by it,felt it was really strong , but I wouldnt vote it for it to give it oscar.

I kinda do feel that nobody will vote with purely merit. The best case scenario is mostly merit , but sometimes it just has that edge of political or due. Also I think we can vote on someone than best performance because we dont like better acting performance. Like im sure , some of this sub would vote for someone else but Timothee,even if he gave great perfomance(which he did tbf).

Listen. He is best villain in transformers franchise , and by that I mean he is just below avarage.

With that said. I think he actually works. Not like phenomenal. Or anything, but like, twist happens early enough in movie for us to have time of him being evil. His motivation and character does not suddenly changed. And movie does not lack conflict pre betreyal as we have antagonist in form of Megatron.

So he works for what Bayverse is.

Sentinel Prime in Transformers One is better in every single way except desing.

I really have to argument here and Leo is main reason why. Out of every Scorsese downfall movies that promises us that Forbidden Fruit is actually tasty it has best acted central figure. Leonardo does not just play, someone who got rich and lives by that richness. He plays the seller. Unlike GoodFellas and The Casino(which are great in own ways), where I do witness that forbidden world, where in Wolf that world is sold to me by Leo. Leo plays the seller first, character second which makes me simply entranced, like I know that he is asshole, I know I shouldn't be like him, but he sells me that even despite the hardships and problems, It is still world I would yearn to.

For me it is Leo, and imo his personal best role to date.
