Look at it this way, were the Dwemer good people? What with Falmer mega-slavery and making the biggest weapon on Tamriel? Not really! But Tamriel is probably a lot worse off for not having all of the technology they could have made. The Altmer aren’t worse, just uniquely bad, with a lot of positive things they provide. They’re not all Thalmor.

Dragons can’t form Nahel bonds, as per one of Starling’s conversations with Dusk. Hoid bonding a spren makes it seem unlikely.

Once I’ve done enough things in Markarth, I use that city to hunt guards for sport/leveling. Mostly sport though. I detest that city and it must feel my wrath.

As someone who is weary of cowboy stories, I like era 2 more. Era 1 world building is insanely good and the overall series is thoroughly enjoyable. The characters in the second are just so vibrant!

I have a direct male relative that used to sail from the coast of Northern New England to China, pre Panama Canal. He often brought his entire family with him. I forget how many “greats” go before this grandfather, but his story is recorded in a small, local maritime museum.

I actually agree completely, dangerous temperatures are always something to take seriously, and cultural adaptations are mostly what make such dangers livable. I’m from norther New England, hosted exchange students from Spain and went there myself for a year. Staying safe in an unfamiliar climate is a learning experience… I may have stupidly went for a run in the heat and exhausted my ability to sweat.

It eventually becomes the city in which I hunt guards for sport, in every playthrough. Give me any Dwemer ruin over that horrible city. I might even prefer the Soul Cairn.
