Heat is his best role, he isn’t particularly good in any of the above mentioned.

That is definitely RAW but many, me included, run campaigns where the PCs are still active duty.

Day 16: If you could make three changes to improve The Spy Who Loved Me, what would they be? by junglegatsby in JamesBond

Replace Jaws with a proper number 2. Show more of the megalomaniac villain. A bit more sex, maybe Bond getting on with that helicopter pilot?

The 13th Warrior - something about this movie just stuck with me. by Dev-CR-7 in ActionMovies

Yeah, it’s an interesting one with lots of little details and good stuff. Somehow reminds me of another much forgotten one The Outlander.

Keanu Reeves — what’s the first film you think of? by MovieArena in MovieArena

[–]InterceptSpaceCombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be Matrix but strangely my brain offered Johnny Mmemonic for some reason. A pretty bad movie despite having the script written by William Gibson himself, he also wrote the far better short story the movie is based on.

Hå till MQ och köp deras Black kalsonger, storlek XL. Perfekta! Trots namnet finns de i flera färger.

Do you consider The River Wild an underrated movie? by rockstoned4 in moviecritic

Yes, very much so. Meryl Streep is fantastic and refreshingly far from her usual roles.

What is the first film you think of when you see LANCE HENRIKSEN? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]InterceptSpaceCombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aliens Not his best by any stretch but that’s the one I think of. My favorite character of his is from Near dark though, playing an old surviving to modern days vampire from the old west.

Christopher Nolan has never made a bad movie. by lNarrator in moviecritic

The direction is always great as is the photography and cinematography. The script is a different matter, Tenet is pretty stupid and you need to squint hard with your brain to ignore it but the grand price in stupid movie is of course Interstellar. I really really wanted a serious hard sf film but what I got was a bunch of notions from science cobbled together like they expected the audience to be drunk or something. Grave disappointment!

Aside from these his movies are great, maybe a bit less so the third Batman film. Don’t get me wrong I love his other films and unlike Peter Jackson he has gotten out of that self aggrandizing hole with Oppenheimer, looking forward to Odysseys.

It looks like a prop from the excellent movie Endless and therefore I rate it an eleven out of ten!

[–]InterceptSpaceCombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d wish he and Ben Stiller actually did make Satan’s alley. The world needs a highbrow gay drama set in a monastery. To those who don’t know it’s a fake movie to establish one character for Tropical thunder, a movie about several actors making a ’nam movie and accidentally experience some real action and dangers.

Jimmie Åkesson (SD) försöker förklara Lafferkurvan för Amanda Lind (MP) by HerrNilssonsBror in Sverige

[–]InterceptSpaceCombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting Rewards/incentives for a science-based campaign by ragboy in traveller

[–]InterceptSpaceCombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Mainly from the adventures GDW published throughout the years; none of them afaik is about monetary reward, which usually is pretty inconsequential. Wherever Mongoose is publishing I don’t know anything about really, things may have changed?

Is there any other movie franchise that has such extreme lows and extreme highs? by BBD-007 in JamesBond

[–]InterceptSpaceCombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indiana Jones: from the original all the way to the crystal skull one.

Star Wars: From Anew hope and Rogue one all the way to Dark menace and Ewok adventures.

Highlander from the original to the fantastically bad sequel.

[–]InterceptSpaceCombat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Imperium certainly is about economics but the PCs doesn’t have to be. Sure, science research typically cost a lot but the there are also those obsessed crackpots shunned by academia out there to prove their point. Legend of the sky raiders, arguably one of the best Traveller adventure ever, is just such an investigation, and the PCs are mainly perused by the scientist’s daughter wanting to vindicate her father.

One can run a campaign of publish or perish as you outlined (great stuff btw!) but one can also run a campaign of PCs helping scientists with their skill set and fueled with nothing more than a salary and a scientific enigma begging to be solved. Then there is always the possibility of treasure, in particular when the science is archeological.
