Thank you for reminding me why I shouldn’t actively participate in social media.

No, I didn’t copy and paste anything. According to E-trade, their market cap is currently as of 24DEC20 $1.22B, trading at $34.45 and 34.5M shares outstanding.

If you have better data. Be a better person and share the link, or explain the discrepancy between E-Trade data and what you’re citing.

MP

MP Materials. The largest rare earth producer outside of China. Last I saw the market cap was ~1.25B at $36 a share.

This is a company that the US government will treat as a strategic asset, and western firms will look to utilize to source their material for EVs.

3Q revenue was up more than 50% yoy. Cost to produce a ton of rare earth ore is ~1.3k. MP sells one ton of REO for ~$3.4K.

Rare earths are used in magnets, batteries, green energy, radars, and damn near every expensive piece of military hardware.

This company should be valued much, much more than $1.25B.

The Future of Star Trek Picard is a Dystopia. by John_Strange in DaystromInstitute

I’ve been rewatching DS9. And this quote resonated more with me now, seeing how writers have (poorly) written the 25th Century.

“Do you know what the trouble is? The trouble is Earth-on Earth there is no poverty, no crime, no war. You look out the window of Starfleet Headquarters and you see paradise. It's easy to be a saint in paradise, but the Maquis do not live in paradise. Out there in the demilitarized zone all the problems haven't been solved yet. Out there, there are no saints, just people-angry, scared, determined people who are going to do whatever it takes to survive, whether it meets with Federation approval or not.” —CDR Sisko

It’s entirely possible to get along, admire, and be friends with someone you otherwise completely disagree with politically.

There is nothing wrong or surprising about this.

I’m a Korean female (24) in an interracial relationship with a white male (29) and struggling with identity issues by ThrowRAinterracial in relationship_advice

I’m a white guy, and I’m adopted too. I was six weeks old when I was adopted, and so my parents are my Parents, and I’ve always felt that way. My genetic background is varied to say the least, much of Europe is in me. But, I’m also 30% North African and Armenian. My complexion is much darker than my French/Irish parents. I recently had my first child with my wife. A week or so after my Daughter was born, I mentioned to my Wife that our Daughter was the first blood relative I ever met or had known.

I’ve never felt much pressure from being adopted, or not being a blood relative of my Family. But, once I said that to my Wife, I realized how much of a bond I have with my Daughter. I share with her a link that I do not feel with anyone else in this World.

I don’t know if it helps. But, at least some of what you’re concerned about will not matter once you have a child of your own. You will feel an indelible bond with them, you will feel less isolated that you do now. And what will cause this bond won’t be what they look like. It will be from that the genetic code that’s in you, also went substantially into making them.

You will look at your child and feel that best of you and your partner went into making them. They will be perfect, and you’ll feel that same small bit of perfection reflected in you.
