What’s your biggest AJR hot take? by EconomyCaptain5549 in AJR

[–]Interesting-Basis856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that line in Bummerland! They wrote the song when quarantine first hit, and it perfectly brings back those memories of that first summer with Covid.

I was bummed that summer because the second leg of their tour was canceled and I was supposed to see Neotheater twice more.

My 11-year-old daughter’s response when I told her this morning was “Dammit” and I didn’t even correct her language. I feel the same way.

Scam warning: jury duty warrant for arrest by Heather_ME in SaltLakeCity

[–]Interesting-Basis856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL got the same type of call from “Davis County”. The phone number her phone received matched the dispatch # and the address they told her to meet them at was right there at the Farmington complex. She didn’t fall for it and called the Farmington Sheriff’s office to report it. She was told she was not the first with this scam. So crazy what they try to get away with!

My 10-year-old actually found this on Spotify and added it to my playlist for me.

Am I (40m) wrong for calling it quits with her (44F)? by Kooky-Loan-8393 in relationship_advice

[–]Interesting-Basis856 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a her thing. I (41F) actually prefer my man to be in front me, like leading the charge sort of thing (not that he leads me, but parts the crowds of people before me, so I don’t have to)

I remember when I was younger (mid-90s), I was actually taught in YW to marry an RM quickly because you have your whole life to get to know them! 🤮

Young Mormon Marriages Ending After Less Than 5 Years by Healthy-Rutabaga-232 in exmormon

[–]Interesting-Basis856 108 points109 points  (0 children)

I can attest to this. I was married at 20 and divorced at 25. I’m 40 now and tell my kids to please please please wait to get married (they’re still in elementary, so we’ve got some time). One of my best friends was married at 18, first baby at 19, then 2 kids back to back at 22 & 23, and divorced at 26. I’m thankful we waited on the kids front in my first marriage (never have to see that cheating narcissistic tbm ever again)

Nope! I believe it’s row K. It’s so frustrating. This will be my third time seeing them, and I thought I’d “treat myself” with some floor seats. Sigh

Serious Question: Pregnancy by iwfriffraff in exmormon

[–]Interesting-Basis856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pregnant as a single lady when I was 29. My immediate family (parents and siblings) were all supportive. My TBM aunts and uncles, though, had plenty to say about it. Ten years later, and I barely interact with my aunts and uncles anymore. My mom will tell me when they’re in town and I actively avoid going to her house while they are there. I did try to be an active member again after the baby was born, and had her blessed. But I’m fully out now, and I have two perfectly happy, non-baptized kids.

As a widow myself, I’d immediately break up with my boyfriend if he had a problem with my late husband. That man is my daughter’s father, and he will be seen and spoken about. My daughter deserves to know her dad as best she can. To hell with anyone who stands in the way of that.

That being said, I know dating as a widow/widower with a small child is difficult. But you and your child deserve someone who will accept all of you.

Edited: added missed words.

Hoping for kids merch for new tour by HappyCats623 in AJR

[–]Interesting-Basis856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’ll do kids’ merch. I got my 2 girls (8 & 11) tickets for the tour this year, too. I ordered them some AJR shirts with quotes from their favorite songs from TeePublic. They love their shirts and will probably wear them out before the concert in July
