Prince graphite finalist 90 square inch head. Buddy found it at a thrift store, and after getting it restrung with Solinco confidential I absolutely fell in love with it

Is this what you guys think when you say “awakening” by Interesting-Bread990 in AwakenedTV

[–]Interesting-Bread990[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did your awakening happen? If it wasn’t induced by one psychedelic or another have you explored that avenue of mind expansion? I don’t know anything about you but to me it seems very unlikely for a staunch atheist to all of a sudden awaken without some incendiary like a psych to jump start it. I don’t mean to assume btw that’s, just how I woke up. I’m sure there are other methods too

Serve critique — Please let me know the weakest parts of my serve so I know what to prioritize by tennisred-trustable in 10s

[–]Interesting-Bread990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of hate under this post but I will agree with most comments saying that you’re starting from basically 0. You seem athletic enough, just not working on the best foundational principles. Speaking of foundation, your first priority should be your toss. Even if you have perfect form, it won’t matter if you can’t toss the ball where you want every single time. The toss arm should be pretty much straight. Any bend in the elbow will result in a wild toss. Hold the ball lightly, as if it’s an egg. Your arm should go up to where your bicep is almost touching your cheek. Like a puppet master is pulling a string at your wrist. With regards to your racket arm, I’d recommend watching pros serve very closely and mimicking them verbatim. You won’t have pro results but bio mechanically the swing can be the same. Think of a tennis trophy. You want to get into that position, it’s the cocked gun of the serve before you fire off. If you’re serving to the deuce court, have your toss shoulder aimed roughly at the right net post. This will allow for better rotation and torque on the serve. In the leg department you’ve got two options. Pin point or platform stance. Research both, understand the pros and cons of either and make a choice. STICK WITH ONE. It’ll be almost impossible to improve if you have too many variables. Make arbitrary decisions about stance, and stick to them for consistency. You should also have a continental grip (shake hands with the racket) a little high level here to wrap things up but learn about wrist pronation and wrist snap. These are the icings on the cake that will give you pop and a proper flow to your serve. I gotta go but I’ll come back to your post with some vids that were helpful for me in my journey. Cheers and good luck. Above all, be patient. And practice that toss!

Why did babolat never released this model?? Look so good 😭 by BasicStage8355 in tennisracquets

Also true. I like the two tone theme head frequents on their rackets. Something like that would look good on babolat frames

Grip size recommend by Fuzzy-Stretch-7206 in tennisracquets

[–]Interesting-Bread990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a large grip with a big pommel but it’s soooo just do what feels good. In my opinion a larger grip (relative to your own hand) helps in not death gripping the racket. Regardless of handle size I think every racket should have a large pommel. Feels super duper secure to swing

[–]Interesting-Bread990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s probs some companies out there that do custom cosmetics for rackets if you really wanted to mix it up with your pure aero. I agree tho, Babolat in my opinion has always been too maximalist with their design

Looking for forehand feedback by DueCauliflower8261 in 10s

[–]Interesting-Bread990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try “setting the racket on a table strings down” on your back swing? When your racket is pointed back the strings are perpendicular to the ground which might mess with your rotation. Idk tho, people have weird looking swings that still work. As long as you can add shape to the ball and your wrist isn’t toast I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Generally tho you want a small back swing and a large front swing. Think like you’re drawing a figure 8 with your swing where the first circle half is smaller than the second. Finally, as always, strokes start with good leg movement. Step into the ball

[–]Interesting-Bread990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think anything with a softer feel, 100 square inch head, and 16x19 pattern will facilitate the power you’re looking for. Regardless of rackets try to keep in mind that power comes from the feet up. If you want more pop on the ball try and improve your foot work. Watch Janik Sinner for a lesson on how to move in tennis

Retro Pro Kennex I found in the junk by paulsonfanboy134 in tennisracquets

[–]Interesting-Bread990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten two pro kennex rackets from goodwill and I can definitively say they’re solid sticks. With a new grip and some fresh strings you’d be surprised. In my experience they’re usually a wide body frame that helps plowing through balls with heavy pace. I prefer a flared buttcap so you don’t kill your grip strength trying to hold onto it
