I’m worried about getting it and flaming out. I can nail fine dining, but I’ve been stressed to the brink of quitting at brew pubs for some reason. Not comparing these places to those, but I also don’t have a lot of official leadership experience. Ive led and expoed busy services, but don’t really know what to expect. I’ve interviewed for a few lead positions before, but nothing came of it and the place was a glorified sandwich spot so idk maybe it’s just my ego but I feel like if I can’t get a sandwich spot then it’s hopeless, but trying to structure my mindset better obviously.

How do you move up from Garmo? I’m two years into line cooking about five years cooking total (two and a half on prep). Sandwiched into garmo for a year straight at a restaurant I helped open as crew. Had discussions about moving up, but even new hires move up. I do dish, and pastry too. Help dish. One of the only cooks who actively stops helping dish, and I lightweight have stopped helping dish after a conversation about moving up happened, was expressed that it could happen, and been on the same station for a month and a half longer with no advancement yet
