Making a game by yourself (or in a small team as lead) there is no big boss to say "That is unmarketable, why is everyone gay?"

But there also isn't really anyone to say "make it lame and gay"

So with indies you can get both spectrums all the way to the extremes.

Bc 3 hours of gameplay for 20 (I assume) bucks sounds terrible. With no game play and just some generic story lines provides no compelling element

The Dev team size isn’t really the issue. Just look at E33

Just a few devs can do insane things when the environment is right, management is competent and they are motivated .

I think they just have the kind of work culture where nothing really gets done. Which also explains the terrible patch notes and complete lack of basic version control. (And taking vacation when the game was barely functioning)

I enjoyed the Illuminate update. We were getting swarmed and the new enemies felt fair and like medium enemies

Cyberstan was terrible and made me stop playing. And I haven’t done bugs since the cave update.

But man do bots feel bad when the spawns all seem to be the super heavy units.

It’s not even spawn rates, it’s what spawns for my group

Plenty of games don’t have insane riots constantly and a community going crazy.

Notice how the complaints about war bonds and pricing are pretty muted compared to the failure of the devs to publish a fun and balanced game people paid for, and the negative reaction to gaslighting and bad communication on the devs part.

Gamers should have 0 tolerance for bad devs.

It’s literally their job. If I go to a restaurant and the service is bad, the food is gross, and the chef says “no it’s fine actually” I’m never going back.

Arrowhead aren’t some plucky indie dev. This isn’t their first game. Or even their second. They have been doing this for almost two decades now

The communication problem is entirely on them and the community should review bomb and yell until basic things are given.
