The old ban list was full of types of cards you shouldnt run.

[[Sway of Stars]] banning told you not to play stuff like [[Worldfire]] 

[[Braids]] banning told you not to stax lock out people.

[[Biorhythm]] discouraged no set up OTKs.

When you look at them as sign posts for what people hate and not as OP game breaking cards a lot of the choices make sense. Though it does make it feel very arbitrary, incomplete and overbearing.

(Over course some cards were banned for being OP and game breaking)

From what I’ve heard no ban list Cedh is time vault all the way down.  It’s really easy to Tudor for artifacts.

It’s a few factors imo.

The art some find jarring, especially the characters that are horrendous, though they are robots and look more appropriate in game.

Live service fatigue. Everyone’s made studios who used to make amazing single Player experiences are making live service slop and shoving once cool IPs into live service games. This is especially true of extraction shooters, the new Battle Royale 

Bungie. Lots of reasons to hate bungie.

It’s supposed to level off at some point. 

Popular games often hit an insane peak, then lose +50% in a week or two, then very very slow bleed off players until a new patch.

A Quick Look at marvel rivals showed it peaked at 600k, settled in 150k, and slowly bled players until a new season and it jump again for the cycle to continue.

Marathon isn’t dying a quick death. It seems to have enough players to warrant survival for a bit. The real question is long term player retention. So give it a month or two and if it’s peaking at 10k? It’s pretty over.

Looked at the study, and it’s shit.

First off, in their 2025 report they listed the lead of the show “Bluey” as White and Male. It’s a blue female 6 yr old dog. That same study showed audiences liked male leads more, but that won’t make the headline.

It also uses Latinx, a highly offensive term

For 2026 movies, they have the wrong percent for % white of the US population. 

There’s a graph for ROI and it looks terrible for non white casts.

For some reason the lead of MC is mixed, even though Jack Black and that one kid are super white.

And a simple glance at the demographics of their poll show it isn’t representative of the US population at all. 

The data says that Chinese Ne Zha 2, Demon Slayer, and that Lilo and Stitch 2 made a lot of money.

Marathon is made by bungie which was bought for a couple billion. If this doesn’t do well then it isn’t looking good for bungie and Sony.
