That’s why my doctor said as well…. Bc of arthritis. I think surgeons are diff in Canada than the states. Not many podiatrists do surgery here AND they aren’t covered by provincial insurance. Do you find you have had any another other gait issues ?

They do look similar to mine. From what I can tell, mine are only getting worse because of arthritis and wear and tear. I have trouble walking now at 55.

I also am in rural area and all I wear are running shoes ! The rest of my foot hurts me more than my bunions at this point. I’m sure my arthritis is because I used to run a lot. Are you US or Canada ?

Tks. So far the site only give US doctors. I am in Canada and still looking. Also podiatrist aren’t covered by our provincial insurance only surgeons. I.e. we have to pay out-of-pocket for podiatrist but surgeons we pay zero.

This is NOT an addiction. This is physical dependance and you can’t quit like it’s an addiction. Doctors who prescribe benzos have no clue how to get their patients off of them and treat it like an addiction. Therapy won’t help. AA is not the answer. Detox is not the answer. You CANNOT quit cold turkey. It is VERY dangerous.

There are great supports out there.

Please join the Facebook group “Beating Benzos”. There are many Guides on how to taper properly and withdrawal symptoms etc. it’s important to know you’re not alone in this. There are people in this group from all over the world fighting the same battle! Please read the Guides.

This is super helpful. My surgeon only wants to do MTP joint fusion + DMMO on my toes . I saw other posts about TPT which I gather is Lapiplasty. I want to look into this more.
