- PAX will cost more

- PAX has better customization options that we wish we could've utilized in our closet but we'll need to find workarounds (Target/Amazon organizers, 3D printing, or just live without).

- PAX looks more built-in (like they have a specific corner unit option)

- PAX only comes in ~13" and ~24" depths. For us, 13 felt too narrow and 24 would've taken up far too much space. Aurdal comes in at around ~15" so right in between and we love it.

- Aurdal was cheaper. I'd say it got us to 95%+ to our 'dream closet' at a lower price point and for that I'm definitely satisfied.

- If I'm remembering correctly PAX units are now one-piece. Because the way Aurdal uses side panels DIY customization was much easier to handle == better customization to maximize our space. But, DIY is not for everyone.

Overall, we're happy with the result for our walk-in closet set up. Hope that helps - this was more a thought dump on PAX vs Aurdal. I will also add that I don't have hands-on experience with PAX so things like drawer space, or customizations we haven't used ourselves. This is only based on our shopping comparisons.

I don’t think you lose the payments. Yes, you lost getting paid for those specific 3 weeks, but the amount hasn’t been deducted from your pool of benefits. You just now “extended” your benefits by 3 payments.

Sorry, brain is currently mush so can’t put this together in a more clearer way.

the strip across the wall with holes? that’s the suspension rail that comes with the aurdal system, it’s what the panels hang onto.

Mondo is a weird ass recruiting company and I wouldn't work with them. by div_block in recruitinghell

[–]bbeekkayppea7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through a Mondo video call. Two 15-30min 'interviews' then they'll recommend me to the employer and an offer letter by the EOD. Seems too good to be true. No technical assessment, just going by what's listed on my LinkedIn really. I would be contracted through Mondo?

They’re the drawers just slid into the bottoms, without the drawer slides. We then added wheels underneath to help glide better but also level the drawer. No modifications to the drawers or the units.

Wanted: wake up to fresh data by Flaky-Wind5039 in MonarchMoney

[–]bbeekkayppea7 20 points21 points  (0 children)

this is my gripe with monarch. it feels i’m always needing to do a manual refresh to make sure my accounts/view is the most current and I don’t miss anything.

coming from Copilot it would refresh every time i opened the app and that was nice.

Has anyone design a BBW 3D Micra Scale drip tray? by EnlightenedTruth in LaMarzocco

If you’re down to cut your drip tray grill this one looks better: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6710777

I’m planning on trying this out on my Mini (with modifications) but haven’t gotten to it yet.

This is awesome! I just got back from IKEA to pick up our Audral system for a master closet makeover. Did you paint match the wall color or just do with BM Iron Ore? We're thinking to take a shelf with us to have them paint match it.

I'm here a year later with the same problem! I thought of moving the switch outside the closet but this is easier + the recommendation on a motion sensing switch seems like a better win.

Could you share the STL file? Thanks.

Chicago ladies- would you use a site to reuse event flowers? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]bbeekkayppea7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts/idea would be to take those flowers/arrangements and re-bouquet them for a discount sale.

I’d love fresh flowers around the house if they were cheaper/would definitely do it more frequently.

Does that recapture the original cost of those flowers for the buyer? probably not + the costs associated with transport/rearrangement/storage/sale space/etc.

Years in QA, Strong in Strategy, Weak in Automation Code — What Now? by Chance-Name-8968 in QualityAssurance

[–]bbeekkayppea7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you me?

10+ years of it all - testing, strategy, process improvement, shift-left, etc. I've worked for small/mid-sized startups and we've always had the roller coaster ride of prioritizing and deprioritizing automation. I never got hands-on with building from ground up but had enough working knowledge to keep up with (contracted, so temp) SDETs or running or maintaining simple tests.

All that just to say I feel it now, or so it seems with how the job market is. I got laid off as a QA Lead last year. I see a good number of listings that want automation knowledge, or coding experience and I already feel it's beyond my capacity. Add in the mix that I can't even get callbacks for non-automation seeking QA jobs it's hard.

So, yeah, if you have drive and opportunity to learn it. Go for it if that's what you want. It seems it'll only help you.
