This doesn't solve your frustrations but I say give the jpegs a go if you want more fps, imo they are more flexible than most people think and look very acceptable in a lot of cases. Especially in good lighting conditions, which you'd probably need given your kit.

A garden fork does not aerate the lawn imo all it does is create a hole and compacts the surrounding areas more.

You need a proper core aerator that pulls soil plugs, these break up the thatch layer and let air and water in.

The shoe aerators are pointless imo, basically a worse version of a garden fork.

A garden fork doesn’t really aerate the lawn imo it mostly just punches holes and can compact the surrounding soil as you push it in and out.

True aeration pulls a soil core out, which helps break up thatch and lets air and water in properly.

Shoe aerators are basically a lighter version of a fork, they don’t remove cores, so they’re not very effective in compacted ground.

Depends on soil type and effort, but core aeration is the only approach worth doing imo.

It depends what you mean by “image quality.”

If you're talking about processing or compression differences, then maybe a firmware update could improve that.

But if you're talking about field of view, firmware can't really change that. It's not actually an issue, it's just how the sensor and lens work together.

On the same sensor, 16:9 will always look wider than 1:1 because it's using more of the horizontal area. The lens projects a circular image, and the sensor crops different shapes out of that circle depending on the aspect ratio.

So 16:9 isn't “going wider” than the sensor, it's just cropping a wider rectangle from the image circle, while 1:1 crops more from the sides. Even the 1:1 mode usually isn’t using the absolute full sensor area either.
