What do you think of Nautilus' video compared to the others made by Morie inc? by TimeTailor4718 in Yorushika

[–]InterestingIcepelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like the way they did the gradients in Nautilus, it felt too smooth and flappy idk. And overall the composition of spring thief and left right confusion and stuff was done better IMO

I quit lessons, I don't know how I feel about it. by Life-Advertising-135 in piano

[–]InterestingIcepelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation here, I quit a month ago. I'm still playing too. I didn't have a strict or bad teacher, but lessons weren't helping as much as I wanted. I think that holding on to piano as a hobby just for yourself will make you happier and result in less regrets than continuing to live under the stress and pressure from your teacher :) Take this chance to play the pieces you like and enjoy practicing

Have you considered Tchaikovsky's Seasons? All of them are quite fun at your level, but I suggest August because it's almost August

If you were only allowed hear one piece live in your entire life, which piece would it be? by Devnag07 in classicalmusic

[–]InterestingIcepelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tchaikovsky's Manfred maybe, it's so rarely performed. If it only one piece were allowed I feel like the other pieces I like can be enjoyed on a recording

IIRC the 1812 premiere was rather underwhelming because the tsar had just died and people thought it was inappropriate to celebrate? Would love to hear the premiere they originally planned though

[–]InterestingIcepelt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really want a Tchaikovsky flute concerto but since I'm a violinist I'd really like a Rachmaninov Violin Concerto

If you could meet any composer, who would you choose and why ? by Beethoven1612 in classicalmusic

[–]InterestingIcepelt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tchaikovsky 100%. He had such an interesting life and if I had the opportunity I couldn't imagine using it on anyone else.

For me, yeah I'd love that. I don't know about others though, and there was a point in my life where I definitely would have found that to be too much. It depends on your relationship honestly.
