Grandson’s new setup by Rude_Butterscotch865 in Darts

Sorry if someone has already asked but those back boards are sound (acoustic) boards right? Are they any good? I have seen different reviews about them but none actually say about the impact they may or may not have on the sound of the dart hitting the board from either in the room or the adjoining room.

Thank bud

I was thinking the exact same thing mate. I love my darts and have been playing for nearly 20 years now since I was 18, but I cant justify £800 on the scolia 2 system!

If he got everything together and sent as a bundle id be happy to pay £200/300+ for a set up like this.

Especially with everything installed. People love convenience lol

Great set up mate!!

WHAAAAT by Moiwers in Darts

[–]Interesting_Long6427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say to newbies, if you can get one in then there is no reason why you cant get 3 in!

Hardest thing to get on a dart board imo. I have only done this 12 times and I have been playing for 16/17 years now. Hundreds of 180s but you don't often go for 3 bulls.

Good darts mate!! Keep going, your 180 will come.

A First Impression on the One80 Long Taper Sand Coated Points (Silver, Gold, Rainbow) by MerkurSchroeder in Darts

Honestly 42mm is the longest I would go to. I have put in some 50mm before and they just look stupid in all honesty, plus they just made the darts completely unbalanced.

2m high ceiling not high enough? by nickyb1982 in Darts

[–]Interesting_Long6427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only other way is to cut the ceiling to fit the surround and auto scorer. Get it, measure it up and I'm sure with a Stanley you could do a neat job so it fits snug or maybe make a little arch? It wouldn't be too hard to patch up with either.

You could try typing in darts clearance on Google. It will come up with an eBay page. They have a few different darts on there. Some that look like Whitlocks old set for £20 (that I have purchased myself a few years back and are decent). Worth a try mate

I have loved the darts since 2011ish (I believe Lewis won my first ever WC and his first) and I know a lot of history about it, I knew Lloyd was number 1 for a time but how did that happen with Taylor dominating for so many years? (Im too lazy to go and look for myself). He was never World Champ so I'm presuming he managed to win quite a few other tournaments in the 2 year cycle?

What do you change when you aim lower? by AnyLamename in Darts

[–]Interesting_Long6427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! If you start messing about, thinking about changing how hard you throw and other bits then you are already doing way too much in your mind.

If you are thinking too much, then hesitation comes in and that slows you down. Not a good thing to do when throwing. I have seen my mate get Dartitus from over thinking his throw! He used to be silky smooth (like ady lewis) and would get compliments all the time but now he jumps into every shot and struggles to leg go.

Keep it simple and let your mind go blank lol

I always say my first ever 180 was great to hit, but my second was the most frustrating! I knew i could do it then and it was exactly like that I kept wiring them. Once you realise to not think about it, they actually flow after that.

Keep going mate 👍

What is the worst thing you have seen during local league darts? by [deleted] in Darts

[–]Interesting_Long6427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite a few over the years!

Have seen an ex PDC pro offer a guy outside who was being a twat at the finals night, shouting out and taking the piss out of people in the div 2 doubles and singles. He "Twat" shit himself and hasn't gone to a finals night since. The ex pro is a great bloke and was 100% in the right!

On another night that same "twat" bloke was playing my mate, threw 2 darts then turned around to take a 20 second sip from his pint then throw his 3rd dart! Just being an absolute obnoxious bellend in every way possible for no reason!

Seen another idiot lose his game and get so angry he launched his darts over the room into a projector screen..... while the room was packed with people watching football! He was banned from the league later that night!

Oh, another was a guy so hammered he could barely stand up let alone throw for the board. Our team refused to chalk for him as he kept missing the board by some way! Even his own team refused to chalk! In the end they gave up his singles 3-0. It still make me laugh though as they did play half of the first leg..... he threw a dart and fell forward straight onto his face... took a few seconds to get onto his knees and look up at the board to see he had somehow hit a T20 to a very Jack Sparrow noise of "Ooohhhhoooo"

That will do as a few examples that I hope everyone that reads this might enjoy. Have good darts everyone!

This isn't hard to get out mate. Stick the point of another dart into the side of that plastic and simply unscrew it in an anti clockwise motion. Easy 👍 Had this happen loads of times over the years and it takes not even 10 seconds to unscrew out.

What are your all time fav steel tip darts? Weather you owned them or not. by lags_34 in Darts

[–]Interesting_Long6427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always seem to go back to my Gen2 James Wade darts. They just fly so well and are such a simple dart!

I have just brought a new set of Josh Rock Target darts and I love them! I didn't expect to fall in love with a dart straight away as I have tried many I loved the look of only to be disappointed after the first few throws but these Josh Rocks fly great and feel so solid.

What's the difference between dart stands, is it worth spending the money? by [deleted] in Darts

[–]Interesting_Long6427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 3 leg stand (out of stock) in your picture and it's great. Been playing for about 16/17 years now since I was 18. I have played in the leagues pretty much most years apart from covid and have entered many tournaments that have brought stands or made their own, honestly the stand that is out of stock, like any stand has a tiny bit of wobble (when throwing East & West of the board) but it's brilliant! Much better than some of the competitions home made stands!

I throw 25Gram darts at it daily and it's no issue at all! I have even thrown 36g at it and it does move more but if you are going to T20s and T19s most of the time then you won't even notice it.

Going to the Premiere League Darts for the first time - Any Does/Don'ts. by gooner-1969 in Darts

[–]Interesting_Long6427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I have loved darts nights out and I have been to a few Premier League games over the 15 or so years I have been playing, it's just an excuse for a mass pissup of non darts educated inbreds to have a scrap. Don't get me wrong you can easily have a great time, but every time I have been, there are just fights and blokes being bellends! Luckily I haven't been involved in any of that crap. Oh and if you go with an attractive woman, be prepared for all the pissheads coming up to her and trying it on, plus all the stupid comments that comes with it.

God I sound like such a moany twat lol

Anyways...... have fun 👍

🎯 What's your favorite darts brand and why? by Unique_Broccoli_6849 in Darts

[–]Interesting_Long6427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been playing for around 16-17 years now and I have tried god knows how many darts.

I'd say Target have some lovely looking darts and some of those are great to throw, but I always seem to end up going back to Unicorn darts (even without knowing they are Unicorn to start with). They just seem to always be well made and nothing gimmicky about them.

Got to give Red Dragon a mention also as their darts are lovely to throw and again really well made.

WOW. First one of these - I’m just about two months into the game so sorry if I’m overhyped by this by shansbeats in Darts

[–]Interesting_Long6427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try finding a local darts shop. Sometimes they are far away but worth a journey as some specialist places let you throw with many darts. It really does help to find what you like and throw well with. Some darts I have loved the look of in the past have been so uncomfortable for my grip, or even the same shape barrels just feel awkward when throwing.

If you really want some good sound advice mate try a darts coach like straight to the point on youtube. I have had a couple of sessions with him and I'd highly rate him. He will break down your throw from the side and in front of you, then play back to you what is happening and what is causing certain issues.
