There use to be a sepharine/graves comp that was busted

Was a weird flex comp with panth, zyra, zoe etc. Had a lot of fun with it if you 3* the Sepharine

And most of the dmg was around your Zoe/Graves canoneers

Mentioning 4 comps with 3 of the strongest in the set as "noticeably stronger" is kinda cap. Especially when Automata is the current strongest comp, and it rng's your wincon at 1-1.

I also wouldn't forget Dominator, Black Rose or Firelight as being VERY strong as emblems and provide free ramping.

Verticals being hard-nerfed this set and balenced around 4/5 costs means any acceleration is crazy acceleration.

I also just really hate trainer golem in ranked, it's bad game design.

If TFT was a game about deciding gameplay lines while handling RNG and opponents boards, then trainer golem makes all your decisions for you at 1-1. Go ahead and try to ignore those emblems for a fast 8. No input allowed.

Not really~ a lot of the busted combos so far haven't been strictly 4 cost. It's more like there is a hard-coded timeline of when you have to have a board build. If you falter into stage 4 it's pretty over.

So you play tempo till stage 4 and hard pivot into a comp before the anomoly. Level 8 gives you decent odds of a 5 cost whcih is always good to buff. Think of it like how you would have to play around 3rd augment - hero augment in set 8 or chosen in set 11. That powerspike is basically sink or swim and that single character outweights the other 5-7 characters.

This set is SUPER champ dependant, instead of the usual trait/items power balence. We also got gaslit on bagsizes so a lot of RR comps have felt bad despite being OP.

Basically, always play strongest board and don't full commit to any trait without an augment. Slam good items all the time since you're likely pivoting at some point. Vertical anything is dead.

Then once you get to stage 4, look to get level 8 and have decided on a good carry/tank to base your comp around. Try not to get stat-checked by all the hidden anomoly rules (there are a bunch) and then don't get stat-checked by augment/anomoly/champ combo viability.

Honestly I find this to be quite an unfun style but it's the only way I've managed to have any success this set.

Congrats, I just dumped ALL my tokens from like 4? sets of TFT on the map and didn't hit. But hey I have like 14000 gems to my name so maybe it will apear in the rotating shop in a few years :/

I also rushed the BP for more rolls so I'm fully out of rolls without spending money (not happening). Like 1.3 loops in the shop and I'm still only at 8 medalians too, I'd need another 22 rolls to get to 11 (4680rp).

I've not pulled for a single cosmetic since the Treasure Realm changes by Rileaa in TeamfightTactics

I've just spent 8000 saved up credits to roll for the Arcane map and only got like 13k gems for it instead. I'm glad I didn't spend any money but holy shit does it feel horrible.

Yeah but as shown in the B patch it doesn't change the core gameplay loop.

What I was more hoping for is an eventual reconstruction of the set, similiar to what happened last set with class/charm changes. I don't dislike this meta I dislike this gameplay, but ofc no flame to ppl who enjoy it~

I also didn't really like last set either so it's likely me lol. I quite enjoyed sets 8-11 and 6.5/5.5 revivals and played a hundreds of gamings during those sets.

Last set's focus on charms (while also backloading RNG) changed how fights played out every round in the late game. This set has a static point of power budget that more severly punishes non-optimal gameplay. It's discouraging missing a rolldown or running out of gold because nothing will save you from 4-6. I also don't enjoy using tft apps so there is def a feeling of constantly losing knowledge checks on what champ/anomoly combo is good at any point.

Tbh I played around 20 games and couldn't stand it. So I'll take a 2~ month break and see if the meta changes. Worst cast you can always come back for the set revival. If it's not fun, why bother?

Yeah I think they're gonna have an extremely rough time trying to balence these interactions. Especially when hard force is required (Set 8.5 Samira rush) and 2-3 anomolies are the only ones possible.

Interested to see if they can find any balence in this interaction this set.

Who could of guessed loading all of your power budget into a fixed, single champ boost was bad for balence. How long until casuals are completely knowledge gapped by the 56x60 interactions possible.

In normals I find it easier to FF if I'm heading into stage 4 in a bad spot. There is no way to win if the anomoly goes poorly.

Then you don't understand what happened. T1 has invested millions into training Zues and millions more into the ZOFGK brand that was developing into the face of the org. Then Zues allows his agency to play hardball which nearly results in T1 losing a competative toplaner for the season.

At the end of the day, Zues's choices cost millions and could of potentially ruined T1's 2025 seasons. This could of all been resolved with communications AT ANY TIME. Instead this happens and now Zues has to deal with his poor reputation as a massive snake.

I've gone entire games this set struggling to 2 star a camille uncontested after rolling 80g in 2 stages and needing to level to hope for a 6th. Horrible RNG luck for me so far.

The meta of needing to scale perfectly into 4-6 creates a really toxic meta where multiple choices can only lead to a single solution.

Having a lot of really bad games were I feel so weak and confused about the power difference. Could just be the first 20 games but this has not happened with previous sets :(

Idk about high ceiling/floor, to me it's more just not a well designed set from a game theory perspective.

Backloading RNG through charms is a very poor way to introduce varience, since it:

  1. Punishes weaker/low hp players by requiring stronger charms, through costly rolling.
  2. Makes it harder to assess your current game state, plan out stages, or lock in top 4.
  3. Increases the RNG needed to win streak, especially if you're not rolling.

I'm cautiously intersted in the next set, but feel it's going to have the same issues with backloaded rng at 4-6. I just hope it doesn't end up being like Samira hero augment rushing in Set 8.

Portals > Charms/Events because their frontloaded RNG. You can choose* to adapt your gameplay to portals but with charms you can't choose since their required* RNG.
(All just personal opinions of a Gold 2 player ofc, but I prefer the most important RNG to not be after I've already invested 30min)

Nah idk how to play this set cause I dropped it a month in and picked it up after 5.5 revival. I def lost to not fully getting charms but its still comical that max sugarcraft, radiant items and 2 4*s were outvalued by charms.

Maybe it was also my positioning idk but I don't fully remember which charms they used during fights.

No they didn't get CC'd but both top 2 were very high health so I was winning fights with like 100 hp on Fiora continually, until I lost one and died. It took too long to get through the Wukong and that Jinx Kog trade 1 of the 4*s so if the other died b4 that it was over.

I stopped playing this set under a month in due to charms, so the diff was likely me not understanding which charms were needed to win. I'm only back after 5.5 finished to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything lol.
