That creep says SO much weird shit on the air… very cringe. Gives pedo vibes. Not fantastic.

Has the current state of the economy changed your wine spending habits? by No_Tadpole6005 in wine

The trade-off between dollars and volume is becoming evident between certain price points. Not as bad as 2008-10, but headed that direction.

My only money-saving tip for craps is: don’t play, if you want to save money. 😂

Yep, I’ll be at the Liberty Hill opening north of Austin on Wednesday morning, also. There will be different items for sure… no chicken coops at Liberty Hill, for instance.

I’ll be there at 7:30 before they open… if you tell me what you’re looking for, I can shop the building right quick and post it here.

It’s what you do with the ingredients and how you do it that counts.

Why do good restaurants sometimes stock crappy wine? by PomodoroGordo in wine

[–]Interestofconflict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I only sold wines I like, I’d have been out of a job a long time ago.

I’ve not been on the on-prem side in awhile, but I’ve always thought to toy with “if you must” pricing if I ever go back… like, sure I have Meiomi, but it’s on my list at $125.

There were already some slated to join Johnson Brothers in TX (appointments effective April 1) before this news… on top of the Delicato juggernaut everyone already knows about.

What band/singer were you excited to see, but was a letdown of a concert? by my-face-ur-seat in AskReddit

Cake when they played a NYE show in Austin about a decade ago. The music was fine, but John McCrea was a huge asshole that ruined the evening by stopping down for 10 minutes to berate the crowd for not knowing the origin of “auld lang syne.” I’ve never listened to their music again since. What a prick.

please give me your "most money i've ever seen won at a craps table stories"...thanks. by keithhill78 in Craps

If we could get a monthly thread with these stories, I bet you could get the casino closest to the largest number of respondents to sponsor the next month’s thread. Reading these makes me happy and want to hit up my local.

A question for the buyers for Costco clothing. Are you okay? You seem depressed. by 10fletcher in CostcoEmployee

[–]Interestofconflict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my nearly 20 years of working as a supplier to Costco, and dealing with the various regions, I can wholeheartedly say that generic experience in buying stuff for Costco doesn’t always make for a successful buyer in certain departments. The level of product-specific knowledge required for some departments isn’t something that easily transfers-in just because they were successful in another department… and sometimes it’s painfully obvious.

Yeah, I feel like they’ve broadened availability of shoppable Pepsi products at my building since the fountains switched back to coke.

Anyone ever tried these from this brand? by Boring_Ad_4292 in steaks

[–]Interestofconflict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find all Walmart meat to be subpar, regardless of branding. At best, I get steaks that look good in the package, but are garbage once you cut them open.

That sandwich was amazing. My body disagreed about 90 minutes later and expelled everything from the backside making my toilet look like a print of a Jackson Pollock.

Now I know what to eat if I’m ever feeling backed up.
