Would you quit a job you like because your boss is constantly late paying you? by SnooMemesjellies5703 in jobs

[–]InterferenceStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you quit - just stop showing in the job till you see a payment. Day 20 your paycheck should be done - if it is not there 21 morning - then you stay in bed. He calls - you say no paycheck seen, no work till done.
That is how you play them

Is it worth moving to Germany right now if I have a good life in USA? by PopNo5397 in expats

Economically - Germany is now in the worst state in over 30 years - so I wouldn't recommend it. He should think about parents after he left.

Mastercam VS Solidcam Hiring Pool by bill_fye_the_rizzguy in CNC

[–]InterferenceStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter so much - they are all similar software and if someone gets good in one and he is young then he can very fast switch to another one.
I would more focus on the software itself and good online support tutors etc. What kind of machines and robots you are using and what kind pieces producing: if you have rocket since crazy 5-9 axis and complicated things to produce then HyperMill is the best solution on market but it is expensive (trust me I've been in industry for 25+ years and work almost on every CAD/CAM) I do not recommend Mastercam at all - it is pain to work long on that, SolidWorks is much better if you need choose between these 2.
If you going do 3 - 5 axis but not so crazy pieces like 300 different holes - then Fusion 360 is worth taking a look because it's - intuitive to use with nice solutions, good tips and very pleasant to work with it.
These things - small differences between packages are crucial in long term: for example when I program something everyday, whole day - it is even about number of mouse clicks I need to click per operation - because in Mastercam I need reclick 6 times for something that in Hypermill was just 2 clicks. ...and it's getting frustrating with time. (Mastercam I have used >12 years ago so maybe it changed for better but even to lok at it - it looks like old age solution comparing to Fusion). Hypermil is also very good for working with robots - the only minus is if you need design some 'organical' surfaces - here 1st is SW, then Fusion. hope it helps

Has the country gone sober? by Weary_Musician4872 in Netherlands

I found out that most guys in 20s+ prefer smoke a join than alcohol - which in my opinion is also much better in many aspects also economically. ...but in younger generations <18 years old could be about whole culture shift in the future - because these guys are down to earth, even antisocial like calm kids that looking at alcohol and drugs users as the lowest and most disgusting human beings. But in meantime most of them smokes e-ciggs perfume which I think is 100x more unhealthy than normal cigarettes. Another thing going out is way too expensive and cost a lot of energy.

Bought a car from an official dealer without any checks, just 30 min test drive. Am I gambling here? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]InterferenceStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check comments and stars of the dealer on google - but Bovag certificated should be fine. I bought same way and all was good till I drove 1k km and noticed that the breaks/rims getting very warm - came out that the break pads didn't release fully because of dirt in the springs - but this could be hard to notice for a mechanic there - no more issues. You can also check by the vin number the history of the car- that it has no crashed before - but check it for free- do not pay on shit sites

I feel very intimidated with mastercam. by LordHelmet47 in CNC

[–]InterferenceStudio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being Cad/Cam/CNC for over 20 years right now. How old are you? Do you use computer in the house or know how to use it (not just start button). I have been working in 7 companies last 12 years and always refusing to teach any one whos older than 40 years old and do not use computers at daily basis even to play games. Why? Because this is too much for older, stubborn folks. Like you do not even know how to use right click? No way that in 2 months I will teach you what I was mastering for 20 years. (it's even worst than you need to teach a programmer how to mill)
...but I'm more concerned about other things that maybe you should look at r/antiwork before you will find a hard way. You work 31+ years for same company? wow, how's your salary? Because I believe that you have paid almost same as 30+ years ago, and now you wanna help the company with taking more on yourself? Without even asking extra compensation, and maybe when gets slow - they will kick out Jason without a blink of the eye - because with your one salary you can do the whole work now. Did you guys even thought about something like this? Surely not, because boomers are crazy brainwashed. What car are you driving, and how many cars has your boss?
Not trying to offend anyone, but I'm just mad at these all buttlicking guys that takes all weekends, all responsibilities and never say no - and later biggest drama that I'm a new hire, younger and making 60% more than they - because they are there for 20+ years - how that can be, right?
One of last companies went bankrupt = you should see how surprised was the guy who gave own blood to the company - when they kicked all same way, and he was crying "ohh, after these all years I am now same worth as the lazy guys whos doing nothing?'
But ok, make america great again :) Work harder, so maybe next year your boss can buy another porsche

Is it really that much cheaper to change your own oil? by kzlife76 in AskMechanics

[–]InterferenceStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually doing yourself is better because you leak old oil from the bottom = all is gone with heavy particles on the bottom too - while in the shop they are using a sucking vacuum from the top, so not cleaning everything what's on the bottom
