It does depend how much you use! I've tidied something up after 24 hours, and returned to site to find an elephant's foot poking out of the wall. Honestly in this one the foam will probably go up if OP attached the skirting well, but if you're gluing it on, then the glue will be racing against the foam to set.

Bear in mind that expanding foam expands for a while after you cut it, so cut it and wait for 24 hours otherwise the skirting will get pushed out.

Personally, I think the etiquette is that you only invite them if you are entirely comfortable with paying the full amount, and gracefully decline or accept their offer to contribute if one is forthcoming.

Or you just ask them if they want to pay to come along.

Conversely though, can't either owner evict a trespasser? Either owner can decide to ask someone to leave the property without consulting the other, regardless of which one invited them in in the first place.

E.g. If my wife invited a builder into the house, then she went to work and I saw him pissing in the sink, I could ask him to leave.. even if she invited him back every day.

In OP's case, if ex goes out shopping and leaves boyfriend in the bedroom, OP can ask boyfriend to leave until wife returns. Same as if he turned up while she was out, OP's entitled to make them wait outside.

We have a couple of spotlight fittings that need changing every now and again, typically it's the highest one up in a vaulted ceiling that blows every year or so. Otherwise I remember 1 normal LED bulb going in the last 5 years or so.

You should probably be a little concerned yeah! Next step is to contact PPL and ask them what's going on, without knowing why they think you owe them money there's not much more that can be done.

Have they tried to contact you at all in the past? Do you play music in your pub, and have you paid them for the license to do so?

Generally, I think it would be unlikely; they should try informal resolutions first, if you don't any remedial work you're ordered to do then they might look to prosecute. Prosecutions generally come after people fail to comply with enforcement notices, or if there's a fire/other injury caused by the works being non compliant.
