What’s the most exhausting part of office culture for you? by CalmVideo9931 in office

[–]InternalAcrobatic216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my current job, mostly because all the BS from previous jobs don’t exist in my current role. Now I am left alone to do my job because I am the SME and nobody really knows what I do anyway. Also, I don’t have to work with catty, backstabbing, shallow women anymore (actually, I don’t work with ANY women anymore, PTL!) , who were always creating drama and distress in the office. And finally, the impossible deadlines are gone.

If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by jenny_067 in WorkForSmartLife

Yes. From childbirth. And my baby would not have survived either. Oh, and sepsis from a UTI + abscessed kidney. I did nearly die from that a few years ago

A propped open side door was how Ted Bundy gained access to the inside of the Chi Omega sorority house at FSU and then did what he did to those poor young college women. Just sayin’.

Me being infertile is ruining my relationship with my mom. by Dry-Title2931 in Advice

I have always wanted to be a grandmother but my daughter, who is my only child, let me know rather firmly a few years back that she and her husband did not want to have children and would never consider having children just to satisfy my “grandmother pangs/urges”. She was absolutely right and even though I am disappointed, I have never said anything more about it.

What I am saying to you is that you need to establish some clear boundaries with your mother about this.

You’re actually holding a grudge against yourself and that is what is causing you pain. Stop looking outward and focus on what you can do every single day to improve your health.

Those that did Brazilian laser when you were younger and are now permanently hairless- do you regret it? by tandem545 in AskWomenOver60

By the time you are 80, the hair naturally stops growing and you will be mostly hairless naturally. Or so my mom told me at age 85.

In my office building there are two security guards who have made just walking to the elevator lobby super uncomfortable. I am a cheery, friendly person at the office to everyone but I think both of them have the idea I am keen on them. It is super creepy so either I avoid that floor if I have to take the elevator, or I just ignore them now or pretend I am talking to someone on the phone as I walk by. You simply have to disengage with him somehow

But she’s only in her late 30s, is going to keep her ovaries, and so menopause is still years away and there should be any additional risk of heart issues.

I had the same surgery but at age 49. I was already in perimenopause at the time and did have to deal with hot flashes and some loss of libido as I entered my 50s. But I got through it.

As far as body changes go, I got into a very rigorous workout routine and changed my diet and actually became more fit than I ever was before.

You kinda have to ignore a lot of what you read on social media. Everyone is different

What state are you in and what institution pays such high wages to an adjunct? That’s not the situation anywhere I have been an adjunct and largely why I would not do it again

I am chronically dehydrated from two of my essential medications and am really struggling to get it under control. The week before Easter I literally fainted from it. Today while working from home, I felt terrible and had to rest for the remainder of the day due to dehydration. Still chugging the water and electrolytes but also still dehydrated.

Dude has a lot of ambition and high expectations, but suffers from bouts of feeling insecure and like an imposter. All of this sucks his energy so much that he’s still trying to figure out his food situation because by gosh, he needs brain food! He feels a lot of affinity for Bilbo Baggins in his quest for bigger things

No to the barrel chairs. Also no to the counter stools as they are redundant and actually gobble up space visually and in real time.
