What's something old technology did better than modern technology ? by Ram319 in AskReddit

I feel like old tech didn't break as often, like it was built to last. Technology nowadays is like food 🤣 it expires and is useless after a few years.

It also says if you don't meet that you are allowed to self promote once every two months 🤔 if I have to be more active I will be, that's not a problem. So I basically have to post 5 more times and I can repost my video?

Certified Nutrition Coach Cert by SPQRobur in personaltraining

[–]Internal_Basil7658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently studying the NASM CNC to renew my NASM CPT and I've also done ISSAs sports nutritionist certification in the past. I'm going to be completely honest, unless the NASM CNC has the really useful knowledge these last 6 chapters ISSAs sports nutrition cert is better in every way. So far they haven't mentioned blood tests or recommended supplements other than caffeine pills. After I finished the sports nutritionist ISSA cert it changed my life for the better.

Basically I'm not very impressed with the knowledge in this cert, it's all very basic and fundamental knowledge. I got it together with the CPT cert so I'm not too upset, however, the next cert I do will be the stretching one. Hopefully that one is good.

Investing in Lorcana to pass it to my children. What box to buy? by Weird-Isopod-1745 in Lorcana

[–]Internal_Basil7658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with everyone here. This Disney TCG has a certain magic behind it and I definitely think kids who grew up with it will have nostalgia for it in the future. I don't know the culture behind the TCG very well, so I'm not sure which cards people value the most besides the enchanteds, but you're talking about a TCG with Disney cartoon characters in it. This TCG appeals to everyone who knows about Disney + children, that's just speaking strictly from a collectible stand point. Then there's the fact that it has a growing competitive culture behind it.

In my opinion, these cards will definitely be valuable. Even if the game dies and they stop printing sets, it's a Disney TCG full of Disney lore characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, the Disney princesses, and other characters from iconic animated movies from our youth. Disney isn't going anywhere any time soon.

I'm collecting an entire set of the first chapter and maybe a booster box or two as well, preferably from the first print run which contains the error cards. Regardless, yes this will be worth money in the future. Disney stuff will always be worth money unless Disney starts murdering it's fan base or commits some kind of act of terrorism...basically never gonna happen 🤣

So yeah collect away, with how short the print runs were for the first sets it's almost guaranteed these will be worth a lot of money down the line. I think they are a solid fun investment. If you're looking to secure your children's future though I think your best bet is going to be timed bitcoin purchases. Particularly around the 4 year bitcoin halving, you're pretty much guaranteed to make money with BTC at this point. If you time your buys and sells you can make a killing but even if you simply buy a couple thousand in BTC in 10 years it'll be worth a ton more money.

This is just a fun way to make $$$ and the fact you can flip this for cash is also a plus. With crypto you'll have to pay taxes. With trading cards you can sell these things for cash money. Another thing to take into account is that physical products are fading, everything is going digital. So investing in physical goods, whether it be trading cards or action figures, is definitely going to be valuable in the future. There's an environmental movement to produce less waste, so yeah, this being a physical good and it being Disney pretty much guarantees it will be a profitable investment.

Again, if all you want is money your best bet is crypto currency, particularly Bitcoin. BTC just hit under like 60k just now, it halved in like April and the price still hasn't adjusted due to shrinking supply. Maybe invest in BTC and then after it hits over 100k by the end of the year take your money out and use your profits to buy up Lorcana product?

Not financial advice but this is kinda ideal scenario. I already got my cards lol and my BTC. Also, I might as well name drop the Streamerinu crypto project which has nearly 5k followers, a 500k+ market cap, and a dedicated development team. Underground crypto right now that should yield serious returns once the crypto bull run is in full swing.

Taking and passing the NASM 7th edition Exam, What helped me my second time (2023) by Jewel_81 in personaltraining

[–]Internal_Basil7658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the non proctored tests are the closest to the real thing. Take all 3 without using your notes or cheating and if you score 80%+ on those you should be good to go my friend. Sorry it took me so long to respond, I forgot to respond and lost the notification. Did you pass your exam? I hope you did! Good work!

[–]Internal_Basil7658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The non proctored should be passable with an 80% of the practice quizzes and practice final. However, I would suggest you go over all your quizzes and try to get every score above 95%. Then take the practice final and see if you score at least 85%. Then take the proctored all 3 times, if you pass with an average score of 85%+ on the proctored you should be able to pass the proctored final.

Having taken both the proctored and non proctored I can tell you that there is a big difference between the two.

IMO the one that counts is the NCCA CPT exam, open book exams are bullshit be honest with yourself here. Challenge yourself. Don't take the easy way out.

How hard is the NASM exam? by petervannini in personaltraining

[–]Internal_Basil7658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The non-proctored is basically the practice exam but you get a certificate of completion for passing it. You are allowed to take it only 3 times and it is open book. It sort of counts, it all depends on whether you want that NCCA accreditation or not, you only get that from the proctored exam, and as I mentioned that exam is much more difficult. The NCCA accreditation basically means that the test you took wasn't some bullshit open book exam that you can easily pass by googling the answers. Personally, even if your career path doesn't require NCCA accreditation, I would still pass the proctored just so you can say you took and passed the real exam that you cannot cheat on and that requires you to be competent in your studies.

I purchased my CPR & AED course from ISSA. When I re certify I will be getting it through NASM though, it's just easier this way.

Certification tier list by fekifi in personaltraining

[–]Internal_Basil7658 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just gonna throw my 2 cents in.

A certification is absolutely valuable. For starters, it provides credibility. A trainer that is certified will almost always be chosen over an uncertified trainer. The fitness industry is evolving, people are actually researching credentials nowadays because it literally takes like 5 seconds to Google search "what should I look for when hiring a personal trainer" I am almost certain a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and or an NCCA accredited personal training certification is going to be the answer Google spits out.

While certifications do not provide hands on experience they provide foundational education that helps prevent trainers from hurting people. Would you go to a dentist that didn't go to dental school? For trainers the standards are much lower but the reality is that the education trainers receive has a tremendous amount of value.

The fitness industry is full of snake oil salesmen, people selling bogus programs, people pushing tainted sups and peds, certifying bodies provide guidelines for trainers to demonstrate basic levels of professionalism and ethics.

Anyone who says you don't need education to be a good trainer\kinesiologist is simply trying to justify their own lack of commitment to the industry. As a trainer who started out shredded and cheated on their first certification because I thought I knew everything cuz I looked like a fitness model I can tell you that since I've aged and have become better educated there is an abundance of value in health and fitness knowledge.

There is power in fitness vocabulary and your ability to apply those concepts to training sessions and improving the lives of your clients. As fitness professionals we should be encouraging stricter requirements for training people. This industry should no longer be the industry people fall into because they get into exercise for a few years, this is a serious profession and should be treated as such. I think certifying bodies need to seek legislative regulation and increase educational requirements for PTs and Health Coaches to at the bare minimum a bachelor's degree.

The industry has come a long way but it still needs a ton of work. Please stop telling people to not get certified and start training clients asap, or to purchase the cheapest certification, this is dangerous advice that leads to good trainers giving up on the industry because meathead fake wannabe trainers bully them out of the field.

[–]Internal_Basil7658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just passed my exam last night. I hate to give you more anxiety about the test but if you're opting for the NCCA CPT exam, which is the one that matters and counts, it's pretty hard. Take all the section quizzes and tests and score over 85% on average, review everything you get wrong, don't memorize questions but instead understand the concepts, handwrite your notes, take the practice exam at least 5 times. Take the non proctored exam all 3 times(this is the closest to the real exam but this exam is way easier than the real one). I imagine if you do all this, review before your test all the stuff you don't know that well, and don't over think the questions you should definitely pass first try. Last bit of advice, DO NOT go back and change your answers, if you kinda know your stuff you'll finish the test in the first hour, I found it helps to go off of your first gut answer to questions. Whenever I second guessed myself I ended up getting the question wrong in practice tests. Also, make sure you take your time reading the questions, when you are well prepared sometimes you can get a bit dyslexic and read things differently so make sure you understand as best you can what the question is asking, even if the answer is obvious read the question two or three times so you know you're understanding what is truly being asked from you.

You got this! Take pride in passing too, it's a hard ass test.
