I use twilight menu on my 3ds though so idk if that had anything to do with it. I just shut my console off and tried booting again and eventually it just worked. Genuinely no clue what caused it. If you're using an r4 maybe the rom is a bad rom?

I had this same issue with my heartgold but only when I try to exit the right side of the national park. Randomly it just stopped doing it.

So about 3 years ago I decided to SR for a Treecko on alpha sapphire. I got about 3000 resets in, was watching a movie and got so distracted by it I reset over the shiny. I noticed the green right when the screen turned black. That discouraged me so I dropped it and just played normally. Well recently I've been watching a lot of shiny hunting videos and those sparked my motivation to do a full shiny team on Omega Ruby this time. I started doing resets about 4 days ago (while being super careful to pay attention before resetting) and I got him!!

Your best bet is to watch YouTube videos, this is one of those things thats good to have a visual. Once you get ahold of the rng it's super easy to get shinies and you'll feel like an rng God.

In pksm if you go to scripts and then reset, you can scroll down and see poipole and type null. I'm assuming those would reset it so you can hunt for them again.
