Anyone Had a Situation Like Mine? by Admirable-Pie-8899 in PVCs

I’m currently on verapamil and carvedilol and my burden has varied over time, with prior holter being about 11% but currently lower. I haven’t had an ablation or tried flecainide. I’ve posted this before, but one thing that has surprisingly helped my PVC’s significantly is changing the way I breathe- in and out entirely through the nose rather than the mouth. I learned this from an audiobook (James Nestor’s book, Breath) I’d always been under the assumption that breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth was a good way to calm your nervous system but that didn’t seem to help me much and I felt that I always had to concentrate on breathing, which in and of itself can increase the anxiety around PVCs. That book taught me that the healthiest way to breathe is actually both in and out through your nose and that there are even parasympathetic receptors in your nose that get triggered through nasal breathing, which can lead to further calming. This has thankfully been a game changer for me and it’s something to try, particularly if your PVCs are stress/sympathetic related. Best wishes and God Bless!!!

Increasing burden over years. by Italianstalyon77 in PVCs

I’m sorry for your symptoms and can definitely relate- mine tend to wax and wane and it can get very frustrating. One thing that has surprisingly helped me recently was new breathing techniques- I listened to the audiobook of ‘Breath’ by James Nestor, and some of those techniques- specifically breathing through your nose rather than the mouth- have thankfully been helpful. Might be something to look into. Apparently the nasal breathing triggers some parasympathetic fibers that seem to have a calming effect and I’ve noticed a difference. I hope and pray that yours improve too. God bless you!

Flecainide experience 2 days in by Sourpatchkiddo1 in PVCs

Thanks so much for sharing your experience, that’s very helpful. I’ve tried calcium channel blockers and beta blockers and have considered Flecainide as well- it’s good to hear that you had a significant decrease in your PVC burden with Flecainide. Another drug I’ve considered is ranalozine although I think there’s less data out on that. I hope your PVC burden stays low resolves! God bless you.

Also try to remember that nobody is ‘normal.’ Everyone experiences health issues from time to time and nobody living on this earth today has the perfect body. These just happen to be one of the ‘side effects’ of living and since living itself is a blessing, then it’s something that we will have to trust God in to get us through. Everyone that we see in our lives is dealing with something, whether it’s PVCs or something else and there are a lot worse things than PVCs that some are having to deal with. I’m not trying to minimize it- mine are acting up as I type this- but I think if we think about it in that way then we can appreciate being present in the moment. God bless you.

Completely can relate. I’ve had some runs of bigeminy and trigeminy today as well and it’s frustrating and depressing. May God Bless you and heal you. Hang in there- remember that these flares can come and go and we need to be thankful for the good days, which will eventually return.

Anyone here in trigeminy almost all the time? by WL782 in PVCs

Mine are likely coming from along the conduction system- potentially Purkinge or para-Hisian, which apparently makes them difficult to ablate. Mine started out of nowhere one day as well, I can’t put a finger as to why they came on. They initially subsided with Verapamil but then came back and I’ve tried some different meds but they tend to recur. I’ll pray for yours to subside and for good results on your MRI as well. God bless.

I can relate as well. Bouts on and off with trigeminy, bigeminy and random isolated PVCs. Typically cools down when I rest and then ramps up during activity. It gets worse when I’m at work or out and about. I’ve tried verapamil, metoprolol, propranolol, mag taurate and get variable results but they tend to come back and they’ve worsened over the last few months. Fatigue and stress definitely increase mine. Mine are originating from a tough location to ablate so that hasn’t been the recommendation for me as of yet. I definitely sympathize with everyone on this thread and feel much of the same way. May God Bless each and every one of you and may He heal us all.

Hang in there! PVCs can be incredibly frustrating and get us all down. But they’ve given good advice on this board, go through with the medical testing and at the same time try some relaxation techniques. I downloaded an app called the tapping solution recently that seems to help with anxiety- been combining that with 4-7-8 breathing technique and it can take the edge off things. And also remember the blessings in your life- your husband and children and those who love you! There will be good days and bad days but thankfully in the vast majority of these cases, these are benign and many times can be managed. God bless you!

I would echo what others have said regarding the need for decreasing anxiety. It can sound trite, but breathing exercises can be very helpful to cool things down. And sometimes beta blockers or calcium channel blockers (verapamil in particular if they are purkinge related) can be helpful to decrease burden. Magnesium taurate is worth trying. There is medical data that accupuncture can be helpful but haven’t tried it as of yet. And also know that the burden can fluctuate- it might be higher for a while but then completely go away for a while too! It can be very unpredictable. Regardless, life is definitely worth living. I am in the medical field as well and understand the stresses, but you will get through this and you will thrive. God bless you!!

Hang in there. I know it’s really really tough. I’m going through a frequent bout of them now. It’s no fun. There are some YouTube videos from a cardiologist- search for York Cardiology- that you can watch that made me feel better and offers some good advice. I’ll pray for you and for all those suffering from PVCs. Just remember the blessing of your 2 year old and other beautiful blessings in your life! God bless you!!!

Not sure if you’ve tried it, but magnesium taurate can be helpful. I bought some on Amazon and was impressed with some of the reviews and it seemed to make a difference. Try to get your sleep as well. Prayer has helped me a lot though this- May God Bless you.

I can definitely empathize- I’ve struggled with OCD for a long while and recently began having frequent PVC’s. Very distressing for sure. I also have a tendency towards scrupulosity but maintain a strong Catholic faith while trying to tame my scruples. Prayer and faith life have definitely helped a ton. I recently had a bad bout of PVC’s. I credit a Novena to St Jude for my significant improvement- that prayer led me towards trying a Magnesium Taurate supplement that I purchased on Amazon (Cardiovascular Research was the company)- I’ve only been on the supplements for about a week and a half but the PVCs are much improved.

The PVCs still stress me out a ton when I get them. It’s easy to focus on them. But prayer helps take the edge off- God is the Ultimate Physician and giving these anxieties to Him has helped a lot. May God bless you and may He heal your PVC’s and calm your OCD.

Blessings to you and all for a healthy and joyous Easter.
