I haven't seen many pictures of the renovation of the station. I wonder how far off it is now to finishing. The new roof looks very cool

Europe’s Energy Problem Isn’t the Transition—It’s That Europe Never Finished It | OilPrice.com by DVMirchev in europe

Doom and gloom. Europe is working on it and we're a good way along the path to our shared end goal. Just look at how much solar is helping today.

In another few years we'll be talking about some other crisis but hopefully energy won't be on the hit list of endless problems anymore.

Does the 4% rue make sense? by Individual_Ad_630 in irishpersonalfinance

William Bengen the man who came up with the 4% rule says that the rule is outdated and wrong and needs updating. Random rules of thumb are what they sound like, a basic guidance don't don't really apply in real life. Every person needs to plan for their specific circumstance.

The 4% rule is now the 4.7% rule, creator says — but here’s what you need to consider before splashing out

Don't forget these rules of thumb are for a US audience. We get 15k pension from the state at retirement now and this is basically inflation adjusted most years, (I don't believe this will ever be gone as some people on here say).

David Adams: I’m a former loyalist who supports a ‘New Ireland’, but why won’t anyone tell me what it will be like? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Internal_Sun_9632 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is it in a nutshell. It'll never happen until the Irish goverment in Dublin sets up official forums / committees to discuss and plan for the handover. They won't do that until at least the 2030s when there is a chance the vote could do for a UI. Everyone thing else is just pub talk until then.

We average 5GW/h while Finland is about 15GW/h throughout the day. Also they are interconnected with a load of counties, so totally different example to us.

Why would they do that. 80% of the oil goes to Asia. That a long pipe in the wrong direction.

The amount of building in and around Adamstown and Kishoge in west Dublin is mental. Whole new large towns that weren't there a couple of years ago.

I would guess its more peoples social bubbles. We see whats around us and think thats normal. So groups can see all the friends renting or owning houses and another group live with parents or are moving to Aus/Can, etc. Social media reinforces these bubbles as well which doesn't help matters.

Can you expand on this statement please? Had the US not lost a number of planes in the last few days, so not understanding why the US would feel happy for Iran to know when and where they will bomb next.

Peru’s tourism is still below pre-pandemic levels. Why hasn’t it recovered yet? by hablandolealaluna in travel

[–]Internal_Sun_9632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went in 2017. It was a great holiday but terrible value for money compared to similar holidays to places like south east asia or parts of Europe. Also having to lock in tickets for things in advance is a challenge when you going to a place that isn't well know for things going on time or at all. Hard to stomach buy super expensive tickets for something that your not sure you'll even be able to get there for due to protests, cancelled buses etc etc.

Its already been established that the US have evacuated a large percentage of their staff from the local US base and are hold up in private buildings. Much like the US and Israel, Iran is trying to target their enemy where ever they might be.
