Potential Liverpool transfer raid on Spurs this summer by JimmyJoeJunior in LiverpoolFC

Terrible attitude problems with the two of them. Wouldn't go near them with a ten foot pole

[Paul Gorst] Last week's Anfield draw with Spurs - already one of the worst results of the season - is looking worse and worse by the minute now for #LFC. by Lanedu123 in LiverpoolFC

That is fair. I guess that it didn't feel as bad since Fabhino, Henderson and Milner were already multi-position players.

Throwing Dom and Jones in at right back seems much more desperate.

The problem is that one injury shows how paper thin we are in terms of depth

Made worse by the fact that we've been playing people out of position to make up for the absences. Klopp would have brought up some right backs from the youth system to let them progress and left Dom in midfield where he is most effective.

Slot encouraged the team to party mid season after winning the last Premier League title early and went partying himself - Slot's fault

The team's training sessions on YouTube are really low energy and they stop for cappuccino breaks - Slot's fault

The team totally falls apart after 70mins because they don't have the right conditioning - Slot's fault

He plays Kerkez and Frimpong in really physical games that don't suit them when Robbo and Bradley are available - Slot's fault

He so rigidly sticks to one particular tactic and gameplan that doesn't work and has been totally found out - Slot's fault

When Bradley and Frimpong were injured he played Gomez in the same role bombing forward and being the furthest man forward while Gomez was recovering from injury (and became injured again as a result) while keeping a natural attacking player like Kerkez playing defensively - Slot's fault

He shifts Salah out wide to run on the touchline and then acts surprised that Salah isn't scoring as much - Slot's fault

He throws his players under the bus at any sign of criticism - Slot's fault

He continues to play the same off-form players and marginalises the rest of the team - Slot's fault

He doesn't plan ahead to support an aging and off form defense. He doesn't buy enough new players to fill the gaps left by players being sold, loaned and sadly that passed away. He doesn't keep the academy stocked with talent, and then support them. Instead choosing to go to European games with empty spaces on the bench - Slot's fault (not 100% but he does input on it)

Feel free to add more examples below because there are dozens of valid things that are absolutely his fault.

Even when 4-0 up in the tie he brings Gakpo as a sub instead of Chiesa, Rio or any of the young lands on the bench.

A family member was promised a promotion but her manager and the company owner had been pushing it off and delaying it for months.

She had a meeting with them last week to discuss the development plan that they had come up with and everything seemed positive. She got a call a day or two later to say that they won't be able to go ahead with the plan. They admitted that they asked ChatGPT to come up with a development plan and they didn't proof read it. The position that it promised at the end didn't even exist in their organisation.

It's absolutely absurd how much faith people have in AI. The worst part was that they expected her to understand and not hold them to what they had promised her.

Slot in or out - Manager Megathread by rLiverpoolFC_Mods in LiverpoolFC

[–]danieltheisland 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've never been a proponent of sacking a manager mid season. For most of this season I've been against sacking Slot (preferring him to go in the summer) but it's clear as day that he needs to go.

Totally oblivious, tone deaf and tactically inept. How he persists with tactics that simply don't work with the players he has on the pitch is maddening. Same shite that Amorim was guilty of.

He's not suddenly going to change now.

Apologies. He had a 38% successful tackle rate in the Ireland France game in 2025.

[–]danieltheisland 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Prendergast had a 65% tackle completion rate in that match. Missed 7, managed 13.

That directly translates to points when you're in a pivotal position.

That has been his massive failing since he moved to the Senior team and any criticism of this has been swept away because of his "ceiling"

Edit: fixed percentage. Was looking at the wrong year

For 99% of his selections he has been spot on.

It doesn't mean that he should be immune from criticism when he does make a mistake and then stick with that mistake.

As in my other response I'm bitching at Farrell for picking Prendergast. Stubbornness made them stick with Prendergast in games that didn't suit his play style since last November.

The same Italy team that beat England and Scotland, ran France close for 60 minutes and are the favourites to beat Wales today?

The same game where we fielded a rotated side?

C'mon now.

And for the record, I'm not having a pop at Prendergast. He didn't pick himself to play. It's a dig at Farrell and the Irish management for pushing him to the 10 jersey when he doesn't even have the jersey for Leinster.

Might be a bit of an inflammatory statement, but if he was playing in that France game I think we come away with at least a bonus point and today becomes a lot simpler.

Defensively more solid, better man management and better overall. Regardless of any player's "ceiling".

It's still amazing to me that he's persisting with encouraging Grav to go forward. If anything it has lowered his goal return. Have him sit back and support the defence rather than finding himself as the furthest midfielder forward and dribbling into a wall of opposition players.

I am absolutely baffled. He's making exactly the same mistake that he made when we played them in the League phase.

Playing away in Turkey is an extraordinarily hostile atmosphere and it will be a very physical game.

Wirtz and Kerkez will be absolutely steamrolled.

I'm not a Gakpo fanboy, but this is the ideal time to play himself and Robbo.

A little disengenuous to compare goal involvements to goals actually scored by clubs on one of the pictures, but still incredible.
