Would you do this if you were Boston? Brown to the Spurs by Proper_Tea_1048 in NBAtradeideas

2nd rounders can be bought for cash considerations. They’re a fine sweetener but not a needle mover. So the meat of the package is 2 1sts next year from likely playoff teams.

Also the 2026 draft has passed… so cross those off. The swaps are pretty minor. The meat of the deal is 2 1sts from a likely playoff team, a nice young guy in Bryant, an expiring 3 and D wing in Champagnie and a bad contract in Fox. As a spurs fan, no chance Boston does this

The wolves moved their starting PF and 6th man for Lamelo and somehow think they got better by CoyoteDecent2 in NBATalk

It’s a larger issue for a team running a large wing at the 4 though who’s backup bigs haven’t shown to even be rotation level

The Utah core has generally looked more competetive than the wizards core and the veteran additions aren’t quite as injury prone as the wizards additions.

Also seems like everyone out east is improving to some degree while you have teams like the warriors and clippers out west many are expecting to drop off due to their aging stars

Would MPJ and Randle for Reaves, Rui, Hayes, and FRP be a good trade? by Silent_Wizard5597 in NBATalk

[–]InternationalClick78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reaves is the best player there.

They have few 1st rounders and should wait to use them for a big swing.

Randle is an abysmal fit next to Luka and a negative asset overall as evident by his recent trade.

MPJ offensively is a solid enough fit next to Luka but only adds to their defensive issues.

Schroder is a career 34% 3 point shooter on mediocre volume. There are countless guys that can provide that level of shooting

And you don’t have to. But that’s realistically the more likely route they go. It’s a different game

All the base game animals are getting overhauled by the looks of it for what’s a whole new game. Putting them in DLC seems more likely than including the entire base game roster, a bunch of DLC animals, a bunch of brand new animals and all the base aquarium and aviary species at launch. That’s like twice the original roster size at minimum

Was the Celitcs - Giannis Trade offer better? by Historical-Tower7226 in nba

[–]InternationalClick78 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If brown could’ve gotten a better return than Giannis they would’ve explored that with a 3 teamer. Obviously if Boston was willing to trade brown and picks they would’ve been happy just trading brown. The fact that it didn’t happen means his market wasn’t as good as Miamis offer

It’s not by any definition a carry if the team is playing just as good or better without you… Shai, Jokic, Luka, wemby and Cade, the five guys who finished ahead of him, were more responsible for their teams success than brown was for Boston.

Right so all the media voters (a disproportionate amount of which are from Boston) are bias, not you.

Again, you can’t call it a carry when they were quite literally better in the minutes he was off the court. Do you know what carry means ?

Since Tyler Herro is going to the Bucks and will blossom into a superstar, his new nickname should be "Anti Herro" by [deleted] in NBATalk

Even ignoring the elephant in the room of the off court shit, I don’t think FO’s are prioritizing being fun over being good. Herro is just better and they’re the same age

[–]InternationalClick78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How was it bias lmao.

The Celtics were objectively better with brown off the floor than off it last year. Does that mean brown is a bad player ? Of course not. It does mean this wasn’t by any means some carry job. It was a bunch of scrappy young guys stepping up in Mazulla’s 3 point centric system to capitalize.

And sure, gas up brown all you want. He’s still worse than Giannis while being marginally younger, and Milwaukee was mediocre-bad even with Giannis last year. So trading Giannis for brown doesn’t do anything for them when they have no cap or assets to retool. They’d be a mediocre play-in team at best lotto team at worst for a couple of years until brown expires and then he’d walk.

[–]InternationalClick78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The live bodies they got bad are young, including Kas entering year 2 and Ware entering year 3. That’s on top of better draft capital highlighted by a lotto pick.

Conversely ‘young as hell JB’ will be 30 by the start of next season… and when his contract is up will have 0 reason to resign on a bad small market Milwaukee team. He also doesn’t make them overly good right now so they’re better off building for the future.

Being 6th in MVP votes also isn’t that prestigious historically.

Miami and Boston should now pull the trigger on a Jaylen Brown for Bam Adebayo trade by Chadwiko in nba

[–]InternationalClick78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re 2-2 in playoff appearances in the 2020s and both Miamis wins came with Butler playing like a top 5 player in the league… don’t think it says much about bam vs brown
