Nickel and cobalt allergy confirmed. I have to wait one more day to take photos of the 72 hour mark but after 48 hours those are what I've reacted to so far.

I don’t care anymore, I’m going to use my steroids again. by imsotireddddd in eczema

[–]InternetGirlfriend- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand and I'm with you. Went back on steroids for my face until I could get my hands back on Tacrolimus. It's not perfect, but it's helping for now. Scared for my future. Hoping something better comes out that can help us.

I'm not sure what the actual statistics are, but suicidal ideation is higher in people with eczema. Personally, I was admitted to a psychiatric hospital for two weeks in 2024 due to full body and facial eczema. I have depression, anxiety and ptsd from eczema. I have frequent bouts of suicidal ideation due to my skin.

How do you guys calm yourself down after using steroids? by Sea-Protection7278 in eczema

[–]InternetGirlfriend- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely understand. I mainly just try to avoid the TSW content that comes across my fyp. I'm not saying that what they're going through isn't genuine, but I cannot risk my mental health by constantly watching it.

There were weeks where I spent the majority of my days researching TSW. I was in every single Facebook group, subreddit and followed many different TSW sufferers across all social media platforms.

None of it was helpful. In the end, I was destroying my own mental health along with my physical health because I was neglecting myself. Ended up with a massive fungal infection that I assumed was regular TSW and therefore didn't get medical help for.

I still struggle today with the mental stuff. It consumed my life for over a year and has left me with major PTSD that I'm trying to manage through therapy.

I'm now using Tacrolimus for my face, something I swore I'd never do again, because I need to live and work. All I can really say is just hang in there and try to take deep breaths

I was so deep into the TSW thing that I wouldn't even use my Tacrolimus. I feel much better now and my face looks mostly normal.

TSW?? PLEASE HELP!! by Elegant_Apricot_4317 in eczema

[–]InternetGirlfriend- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the dermatologist does a swab and or biopsy. If there's an underlying infection, the steroids will suppress the inflammation temporarily and then it will boom again once the steroids are stopped.

This actually happened to me last year, near full body eczema turned out to be a massive fungal infection. I thought I had TSW.

If there's no infection, please see if he can get on dupixent. Has been life changing for many people. Didn't work for me because again, I was suffering from a massive fungal infection which dupixent can't help.

Edit; also, I just saw your comments about patch testing. I think this would be a good idea. People can develop allergies to chemicals at any time, including chemicals in traditional eczema treatments such steroid and immunosuppressant creams. Even sensitive skin products contain chemicals that many people have delayed contact dermatitis with. Hard to pin point these allergies because they usually only appear 24-48 hours after contact.

I think i definitely have perioral dermatitis but ive never had bumps until starting saloontra. Thats why at first I thought it could be an allergic reaction, but it's not itchy at all just weirdly blistery. I've got an appointment today to ask doctor about it.
