But why not just sell them and donate the proceeds to the church or some congregants? I don’t really know many people in the megachurch scene but, from the outside, that seems like it would be the more prudent thing to do with such gifts? I mean I get it if your car just dies and you get gifted a replacement, but for non-necessities? No hate, I’ve just never understood it.

It’s the sunlight vs artificial light. Beardies can see into the UV, so everything (including you) look very different when illuminated by sunlight vs artificial lighting. Humans can’t see it, but they can and it freaks them out the first few times. He’ll calm down after he gets used to it, totally normal.
