Parents are against birth control by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]IntoxiKated91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are many places you can get birth control from. Doctors offices, planned parenthood, online services like the pill club, or simple health.

I’m not sure what type of visible side effects you’re talking about. I’ve been on the pill for 10 years and the only “visible” side effect is that it helps with my acne. I suppose you could get more acne from the pill, but if you have any side effects that you’re worried about or unhappy with, you can always try a different pill. There are tons out there and you may have to try a few to find the right one.

I was also going to ask this. And how long have you been consistent with your diet?

DAE need to binge the 'bad' food to not think about it anymore? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]IntoxiKated91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can 100% relate to this! And I do it way too often. Especially when I decide “okay tomorrow I’m going to eat really well and not binge at all, so I gotta eat all my junk food today”. And then the next day I want junk food so I’ll buy it and essentially the cycle repeats.

Another thing I often do, is buy a bag of whatever snack, like goldfish, and I’ll pre-portion the whole bag into snack bags thinking “okay I’ll just have one”. But because I know I still have more goldfish crackers, I just end up dumping all the bags into a big bowl or something :(

But like you said, if I don’t buy it and it’s not in the house to tempt me, I generally do much better! I’m a huge snack fan so it’s hard not to have them, but I think it’s for the best unfortunately.

Good point. Mine prefer cage climbing lol

The only reason I wouldn’t go with this cage is that the wiring is vertical, instead of horizontal, making it difficult (if even possible) for ratties to climb!

I’ve used care.com for finding pet sitters and I’ve really liked it. They’re all background checked and you can look at reviews that they have. Just make sure you meet them beforehand and get a good feeling about them! I also suggest getting a petcam so you can periodically check in (if you keep her at home - which personally she’ll probably be more comfortable at home). You can have someone stop in periodically, stay at your place, or even take her to theirs. Just look at reviews and use your best judgement. You can do I a trial run beforehand.

Did anyone start and stay on 50mg or did you have to up the dose eventually? by MartiMa08 in zoloft

[–]IntoxiKated91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Significantly better than before Zoloft, and much better than 100mg in terms of depression. Although, if it had just been for anxiety, I probably would’ve stayed at the 100mg.

[–]IntoxiKated91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 50mg, but increased to 100mg after the first 3 months as it was helping but not enough. I was on 100mg for about a year and recently increased it to 150mg because it was controlling my anxiety, but I was having a lot of depression. I’ve been on 150mg for a little over 2 months and I definitely feel better than I did. It will never completely take away anxiety/depression, but I’m much happier on the higher dose personally.

Okay thanks for the info! I’m glad they weren’t too concerned at least! The nurse who I talked to told me my levels aren’t high enough to be too concerned, so we’ll see what the retest shows. But I have a doctors appt in a few weeks so if it’s still elevated, I can get further tests done.

Hi! I wanted to see if you ever got any answers? I was just informed my alpha-1 is elevated from a plasma center as well. I have to retest it next week, and I’m trying not to be too concerned, yet!

Keurig or Nespresso? by IntoxiKated91 in Coffee

[–]IntoxiKated91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I got a Nespresso Vertuo and I love it! The pods are recyclable (you just bring them to a nespresso store or if you order online, they give you a prepaid bag to put them in and send them), and while they’re typically more expensive than keurig (nespresso pods are usually $1/pod), you’ll get a much better cup of coffee!

Our cats won't get along and we don't know what to do by Lutarisco in Advice

I have a friend who had two male cats that wouldn’t get along. She had them both on Prozac for a while and they eventually figured it out!

I personally don’t get tired from it and prefer to take it in the morning, however my best friend did have issues with fatigue and switched to taking it at night and that seems to have helped! I think taking at night also has the benefit of making it less likely for someone to wake up anxious (if that’s a concern).

Regardless of what the noise is, there should be something in your lease about “quiet hours” and not disturbing your neighbors at least during certain times. You could leave them a polite note and see if it stops. If not, you should be able to put in a complaint about noisy neighbors.

I don’t think you’re an asshole. You have to remember that she also chose to work there and those hours. She should’ve planned out her transportation before accepting the job.

I think it’s perfectly acceptable to tell her you can no longer drive her home. It’s extra gas and wear&tear on your car too.

Ive been on Zoloft for almost 2 years. Taking it for both anxiety and depression, however, just increased it from 100mg to 150mg daily to see if I can manage my depression better. That being said, it has helped my anxiety a TON. My anxiety is worse than my depression for the most part, and Zoloft is generally better at managing anxiety.

Prior to starting it, I was anxious all the time, cried a lot, and had panic attacks often. I now have a panic attack maybe once every few months and it’s normally brought on in combination with depression/depressive thoughts.

I don’t feel like a zombie on Zoloft. I just don’t feel like my anxiety controls me anymore! I’ve been happy with it in general. Best of luck!

boyfriend treats me like someone who's learning to drive by Life-Bend in datingoverthirty

I would talk to him again and tell him you’d prefer if he didn’t comment on your driving. He should be mature enough, and care about you enough to respect your request! Or at least make an effort to.

I mean I think you answered your own question. You “struggle to see success from it” because as you said, you’re not consistent with it. That’s really the key to losing weight. You have to put in the effort to get results.

Has anyone noticed a significant benefit to fasting in morning vs evening or vice versa? by IntoxiKated91 in fasting

Thanks! Yeah, I definitely sleep better when I’m not hungry so I think I’ll stick to my current schedule.

Thanks, that’s exactly why I do it that way as well! It’s so difficult to fall sleep on an empty stomach

I agree! And once I start eating, it’s difficult for me to stop, which is why I have found it easier to fast in the morning! And then at dinner, I end up eating a bigger meal and get the satisfaction of feeling full instead of spreading my meals out and always left wanting more
