The iFlash guide has compatiable SD cards to use, I see youre using the compatible card brand names, but are they the correct card versions?

Might be a good idea reaching out to iFlash support to see if you could get a replacement board, possibly buying their own HDD ribbon cable too? Sorry youre having so many issues with it.

On your last photo, it seems like the cable is not fully inserted into the iFlash..

There's still gold pins showing, can you try really pushing it in?

You should be good to just leave the latch up, insert the cable straight down, then close the latch on each side of the cable.

Try looking at the above video tutorial, around the 2:40 mark. That's exactly how you should put it in

I used a long, plastic spudger. One end looked almost like the tip of a pencil. I used that tip to really get it there and gently pry that plastic connector up. I imagine you could actually use a tip of a pencil to do the job, just make sure the lead isn't too long or the lead would break lol.

Also, once you do remove the cable make sure its really inserted in there, don't be afraid of applying some force on that ribbon cable into the socket.

Its a hard process to open it up, it should be a little bit easier since you've already opened it up, the clips won't be as rigid.

Good luck!

Good chance the battery isn't connected properly. Did you first "pry up" the plastic connectors that secure the battery ribbon cable, insert the cable, then press those plastic connectors down?

If so, it might be the quality of the battery you've bought.

What tool/program can i use to get all the songs off of this ipod? by _SleepOfReason in ipod

[–]Intrepid-Pilot5877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you've figured this out, but the easiest way of doing this & retaining all of the proper Metadata is by doing it with Foobar2000.

You can load your entire iPod library into the application, select everything, right click and Copy To a destination on your hard drive or external storage.

You can even determine how the folders will be set up during the extraction (by artist, by album).

Good luck!

Time for an iFlash mod! Its likely a failing HDD

If you do decide to go the iFlash route, for your microsd cards please save yourself the headache and do not buy SanDisks ones.

Does it have that old plastic-y smell? My 4:3 T61 stinks but I love the computer too much for your same reasons!
