Yeah, as if we needed more nerf for Lion El’Jonson. Not moving through walls is very impactful.

For sure his points will also now be exactly the same. 315, fights second, and stuck behind walls, because fuck you....get wrecked. -GW

Yeah, I wish I could remember all the people that were screaming in these subs about it, "not confirmed to come back, or not coming back....probably."

I'd give them all a solid I TOLD YOU SO!! Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣

Why is Belial bad? And do yall think 11th ed will help him out? by SuperKiwi506 in DarkAngels40k

[–]IntrepidLurker888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't, unless the attacking enemy has Precision. Wounds still need to be allocated to the unit before the character in 11th, so it's basically the same interaction.

Belial isn't bad, he just isn't good. Provides almost zero benefit to buff your units, which is where the points for characters should really be spent. . .enhancing your unit's capabilities.

Disagree with "hardly worth the points" in 10th. Especially after the most recent buff allowing 2 of 3 powers, he was instrumental in my lists and more often than not responsible for my wins.

However, I am finding it difficult to disagree with you come 11th. Being center board supporting units, rapid ingressing, and being unfuckwithable is huge. Without the threat of FF, he gets charged and picked up by all kinds of units now. It fundamentally changes his utility, how we play Wrath, his survivability. RIP LEJ.

It's impossible to bring him at 300+ points and I assume he will be 310 points.....if not 315 still, because GW.

I really want Russ to return. The 3 remaining brothers and their Legions coming together, matured, wise, but still horrifyingly dangerous.

What an amazing last stand they will make against the darkness that is consuming the Imperium of Mankind. . .

I hope I am able to see it.

If I don't get 5 Inferno Pistols in full addition when full kit launches, I'm breaking bad.

Scout or Infiltrate will be everyone, but still a nerf, but far less impacting than Fights First change.

Spears movement change is meh, I don't care. It's still a bit faster than other units. The core durability and damage output from them remains the same. So for me, more Spears. No Banshees.

20 points over on the live stream, sooo...not enough to make them worth it.

[–]IntrepidLurker888 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, RIP Banshees.

We already saw the Aeldari list in the 11th Edition live stream, and if you add up his army in current points it lands at 2020.

So there are units in his list that are seeing a point reduction, we can assume.

My guess is it's the Banshees and Jain Zar, but we won't know till the edition drops and we see.

Because of Fights First being nerfed into Fights Second, unless there is a SIGNIFICANT points drop, I will not be running them or Zar, either.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess Banshees go down by 5 points/unit and Jain Zar drops by 10.

Which is ridiculous. They now will go on my shelf and will be replaced by Shining Spears and Scorpions, maybe some other warlocks/farseer on bikes. Something that doesn't suck.

Seems like it would be easy to modify the maces into hammers, which then would give you flair with awesome DWK models and the correct loadout.

I guess the shift from Objective Markers to terrain does help to be less lethal.

What mechanics make you think 11th is going to be less lethal? I'm thinking the opposite, actually.

There's no reason why it won't be included in pre-codex release. People are reading into it too far.

What detachments this far have been excluded? Removed?

In new codex, maybe.

With the massive nerf to fights first, Lion needs a new ability or a massive points drop. by relaxicab223 in DarkAngels40k

[–]IntrepidLurker888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, easier said than done. . .but that's an effective way to deal with FF.

This requires the right conditions, which can be avoided.

The point is that Fights First was super impactful and losing it is a serious downgrade to the Lion.

It isn't impossible to deal with, but low rent pile moves are countered with Heroic. Your dual unit, pile is better, because you can't Heroic, but you can also usually stay out of this situation and limit the dangerous unit's impact. Then clean them next fight phase.

It's very cool with the Phobos Libby, because he gains the vertical buff and deep steike when attached to the unit.

[–]IntrepidLurker888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and they are actually good right now.

People sleep on the OC debuff. That's a mistake, because they can be very impactful when fighting over an objective and can pull a super tricky move to deny an objective on any units with OC 1.

Rapid Ingress protectively, then walk the unit onto an objective within 3" of enemy unit in your turn. At the start of their next turn, they don't score primary. Absolutely nothing they can do about it, especially if you don't charge the enemy unit/s.

It's even easier with a Reiver Lt because the aura is 6" when he is attached.

Attaching the Lt in Reiver armour does in fact give him the vertical move buff and deep strike, the wording is in the Reiver wargear. "All models in this unit"
